sooo i used to live in the suburbs, and as u can geuss we got flawless reception on the old analog dinosaw :P
moved to the bush and i cant see crap lol, got a little twin dipole omni antenna?
it picks p blury images (can make most things out) but its just crap lol
anyway we have this big ****off antenna on the roof but its being hogged by my parents, i could build a splitter and run cable to my room but due to the fact its over the other side of the house i dear the attenuation of the excessivly long cable will make it no better than my current antenna
whats the highest gain antenna i can get thats not roof mounted??
anyone know?
Put a splitter in, run it through an amplifier about 1/2 way and it should work. Try the amplifier at different distances from the splitter to get the best result.
run the extra cable, my tv's at the end of the cheapest coax money can buy at about 40m from the antenna, and there is no differance between mine and the tv with the shortest amount of lead approx 15-20m,
do that a stick a good stb on it, she'll be apples

the best amplifiers to get are the ones that sit on the mast, for about $100 you can get one with a splitter built in. The box sits on the mast and you run your two coax cables from it, and then behind one tv you have a power supply that the coax runs through. That'd be the best you could do short of upgrading the antenna.
For about $40 you can get a basic amplifier that just consists of a wall plug that has an input and output for your antenna cable and a gain dial for the amp in between.
Also remember to buy good shielded cable, the really thick quad core stuff will do the trick. And make sure all your connections are good- you want to minimise as many sources of signal loss as possible!
Failing that the best antennas you can buy apart from roof mounted are the ones with their own built in amplifiers. These go for anywhere $40-$100...
those built in amplifiers/indoor antenas r useless they only amplify the bad signal or ne interfearence if u have ne? ur best off doin wat bezz said with the booster/splitter that sits on the mast
