It has become quite the fashion for car companies to have a "performance" brand for their products. Of course Holden have HSV, Ford have FPV, Mitsubishi have Ralliart and (my favorite) Mercedes have AMG.
Nomatter what you think of the products, all of these are excellent names. They add an edgy excitement to the marque and create an aura of exclusivity that you are driving something special.
Then we get to Toyota. WTF is a TRD? Every time I see the badge I wonder who wants to be seen driving a TuRD? Toyota are the masters of building whitegoods on wheels but I never thought that would extend to a dunny.

Oh yes, i learnt that the hard way...i was googling "HSV VT", looking for a photo of a VT Clubsport, when i came across an image...of a....erm....infected "thing".
I don't want to think about it.
For the record, the other day i saw a Hyundai with "HSV - HYUNDAI SPECIAL VEHICLES" plastered all over it. Is there really a Hyundai Special Vehicles, or just another dumbass tryhard Hyundai driver trying to be "kewl"? *cringes*

the bmw performance tag is M, hence m3, m5 etc
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise
Mopar....I really like them grits, gimme sum mopar....
whenever i see a trd i think 'tard' not turd
Two different things, MOPAR is the parts and service side, SRT is the performance side.
personally i don't really care about the name, HSV could of been called GHSV ( Gay Holden Special Vehicles ) and i wouldn't care because the cars themselves are great!
We got rep back, yaaay!
