It's edited. Someone at NASA that uploads the images after they have been screened would have put that in. Happens all the time. Just like the directions of Google Maps, I think it was from London to New York, the directions say jump in the ocean and swim for 2700 miles or something like that.

If it was a sign, it's not there in the current view. There are lots of theories, blimp, a tank on a stand, a billboard. I reckon it's an edited version of that shot just to create a bit of mystery. One theory is a black car parked next to the white car, but the white car doesn't have a shadow.

There was a hoax going around that someone did a huge version of the cover of Maxim magazine with Eva Longoria on the cover and laid it out in the desert in Arizona. When you clicked the link from the story it showed the Google Earth view of the cover, but when you went to the coordinates in Google Earth, there was nothing. All it was, was an overlay in the link, right click the picture and get rid of the overlay in the properties box, and Eva went away.

The story has just broken in theage.com.au, which pinpoints the hyperdrive-driven vehicle as taking off "near the shores of Coogee Beach, just off C0ckburn Road, near the corner of Powell Road".

Clearly an edit this one. Go to the real spot and there is a tank casting a shadow just to the right of the car. In the pic on the website, part of the shadow is there but the tank isn't. Someone is doing a bit of editing and submitting a link.
