Default Need Some PC/ Internet Help

Need some help please from some more computer savvy people.
I can't get onto any sites that aren't australian. Google, ebay and msn things like that won't work all the aussie forums i've bookmarked seem to work fine.
I'm on Adsl2 with comcen/spin internet.
Also seems to be interminternt (sp?) about 5pm i could get it but now its doing it again

sounds like a problem with your ISP, however you could try turning your router off for a minute (unplug it from the wall) and then plug it back in and see if that helps, that is if you are using a router.

otherwise your going to have to ring your ISP and see whats going on.

ok thanks guys for the quick replies seems to be fine atm. A few people seemed to be bagging out spin on there but i've found them to be good

you could also try some different DNS servers.

Try manually putting in these DNS Settings:

Primary DNS: 203.26.199.1
Secondary DNS: 203.26.199.15

Into your network TCP/IP Settings.

This is highly likely to be your issue.

DNS translates IP addresses to the web addresses that you put into your browser. If the dns servers do not know of the websites you will get a timeout error

Well thanks guys its all better now only seemed to be happening that day. Those DNS settings would they be entered into my router? ATM its set to get automactically from ISP

its usually all automatic..

i never reccomend using fixed entered DNS sever ip's as youll never know when the ip might change and youll be left without DNS again... bit hard to specific a potentially dynamic adress...
