    Default cleaning your car

    what is the longest time you have spent cleaning your car?

    mine is about 6 hours for my VS ute. it was washed and polished... then i removed the door trims, seats and center console and did the inside.

    i have a feeling i am going to break that record though albeit in several sessions. so far i have spent 3 hours (1:30 last night and same tonight) cleaning paint off my car. yesterday some dumb arse painter decided to wash his rollers out near my car and now it is covered in white dots. i have to scrub it inch by inch and then polish it. i have a feeling it is going to take alot more then 6 hours cos so far i have only done the roof, left quater and left door. i sill have the left rear, bumper, bonnet, wheels and a few spots on the right side.

    if anyone has some tips on cleaning off white acrylic house paint from a black car let me know

    With a car i used to have i would spend a couple of hours each wash and that included boot and engine bay(by hand).I would do this about 4 or 5 times a week.I was obsessed with it.I wouldnt park it where i couldnt see it if i went out(mad i know)I left it out of sight once and some dog had spat on it,that was enough for me and i sold it off.

    I spent 5 hours with a mate using paint doctor on every inch of the old VN, came up NICE. That was just the outside paint.

    It took 3 hours 4 my neighbour 2 clean my car wen he had a camp fire right next 2 my nice white clean car nd made nice black ash stains all over it. Funny tho he wasnt goin 2 clean it until i told him it would be a shame if all the windows on his 06 rx8 ute got smashed. lol he cleaned it that day.

    mabey not that long, but close to it

    ages ago, when i had the vn, and when it still had paint on it, i was followinga concrete truck, he had a pool of water on the truck, (it was one of those pumping cement trucks) needless to say i got home, front of car, roof boot, and a little bit of drivers side was covered in cement slurry, took lots of water to get it off that day.

    9am till 5pm one saturday and from 10am til 6pm on the Sunday. Total = 16 hours including lunch breaks and a few coffee breaks. That included:

    * Wash
    * Clayed
    * wheels removed, cleaned brake dust, waxed
    * Swirl removal/paint correction
    * less agressive swirl remover
    * Pure polish
    * waxed x2

    All done by machine. Damn she looked good. My avatar photo was a few weeks after the detail.

    Around the 6 hour mark. Wash, cut, polish, wax, vacuum, wipe down of interior, buffed the glass, washed and polished the rims, cleaned the engine bay and undercarriage of car.
