Who goes to Echuca for the Southern 80 in Feb??

Just wondering, Is anyone obsessed with the Southern 80 like me?

For those that don't know, it is an annual Ski Race held on the Murray River on the second sunday of Feb every year.........

Absolutely Awesome weekend, well week for me, I get u huge bunch of people together and each year our group increases, we camp on the Vic side of the River, about 10k's out of Echuca......

Ha Ha, yeh a mate, Tony owns one of the race Boats called Spinner, Twin Turbo chev, 1200+hp.....He has to date spent just over 300 grand on it!!

we have one just up the river in mildura
called mildura 100 on the easter holidays good fun everone goes camping watch the bouts go past with the guys on the back with 50m lines holding on for dear life at about 150mph good fun getting drunk down the river

Yeh, the Boats you see are some of the ones in the Southern 80, but the 80 is the Biggest Ski Race ever held in the Southern Hemisphere, it like triples the mildura 100........ In Boats and people.......

Wagon Wheel, if you go, let me know where you will be, I will pop in........

As for anyone else, I will be in an old White Savage Clinker with the name "Woodys 1" on the side..... Yell out and I will pop in for a beer or 10...lol...

And yes I can bring some girls with me.....lol..

Ha ha, yeh we get that every year, a few beers and before you know it, someone is punching on....... It all gets sorted pretty quickly and the Tools end up pulling their heads in and enjoying the weekend...... Every year we will have some group trying to impress all our girls, and yeh we pretty much don't hear from them again...lol... It's all part of a great and wild weekend..... That's what makes it so good!

Hey Mate, we camp about 10-15k's ut of Echuca on the Vic side of the River....

Have for he past 3 years, before that I used to stay at Merool Park, until all he B-S Rules came in........

haha yeh tell me about it were normally at farleys road on the vic side about 20k's out of echuca, but i think we are goin to try fraser road this time

We normally camp down Braund road.... You are past us... towards the start more...... Go Bush, No Rules, exept for the Rangers, but we had them sorted...BEER...lol...

Sounds similar to camping at bathurst, i went the other month, it was CRAZY...... we were on one of the biggest camp sites there the NO **** HOTEL, was mint, we always had ********s rockin up tryin to impress ppl but they soon moved on after they knew they were bein dicks. Ill let ya know if i end up going, no idea where my mates stay though

I am so excited, it's nearly here!!

Started getting everything ready, servicing the Boat etc, got the cricket bat ready, and tent is all good!!

Thank god we had all that rain a few weeks ago!! It actually gave the Murray a good drink...otherwise the race may have been called off!!

the guy a cpl doors up from mums goes. Energy is the boat.. last time i saw it, it was yellow with glitter paint all over it.. very nice sounding too.

That is one hell of a trip in a houseboat, Merool to Farleys road!!

I know it does where we go, also is it beach, or cliff around there?? as we are keen to try some new spots this year!!

not sure where we are picking it up from my mates got all the info. it goes alright at farleys heaps of people camp there and a fair few people use the boat ramp there 2 so it gets pretty busy
