voda has 5GB for $39 and a free usb card. how good is that!!
offer ends 31st dec.
Hot offer - 5GB Mobile Broadband for only $39 a month
compare that to Bigpond(not telstra) $184.95 for 3GB. but they have the coverage though.
<<DRIVE IT LIKE ITS HOT>>
"Calais, interior is rezzed, mess my interior, its suicide you d!ckhead"
I looked at Voda website, but I cant get coverage map up?
Id prob go hourly plans with BP, plus I get staff discount etc.... but Id prefer more hours if that was the case.
Yeah I know about the 3GB for 184, sucky
Anyone used Voda or 3 or virgin? I might go see if I can find their coverage maps again. 3 is iffy at mine![]()
Three mobile has 1gb for $14.95 per month. a half price offer on a 24 month contract.
i got phone (unlimited local and interstate calls)
wireless broadband (512kbs) for 4GB per month and once i use that up they slow my connection down to 128kbs, until the new month.
phonecalls are cut off after 90minutes but you can just ring back.
modem has caller ID display too...
its a 24 month contract.
the modem is worth having listed on your house contents poilcy because it remains their property and they slug you $400-500 to replace it!!
all up costs a flat $60 a month, by far the best deal I've found, their tech support is ok, except expect to wait on the phone forever and a day to get to speak to someone.
bigpond is the best but unwired arent too bad either i have used both in mine and my mates laptops both are similair in coverage
If you have trouble getting 3g coverage at your place forget wireless bb as that uses the 3g network (telstra), but it works a treat up here!!
I cant get '3G' coverage, I get complete, fast NextG coverage.
There is a difference, dont make me do my sales pitch lol.
Meh the more I look into it the more it sucks.
Im just going to get BP WiFi now I think. Then work my ass off so I never have to pay for it lol.
Not unless anyone is getting a good WiFi ADSL plan now?? Id rather not pay for the modem (yeah Im a cheapskate).
do'h i forgot to say, was through virginbroadband, they just supply the modem, you dont need a phone line into the wall or anything, I plug the phone ino the modem and the modem into the LAN network card on my PC and away i go... pretty simple, only drawback is that the net slows down when your on the phone..
has saved me about $180 over 3 months already...
dont know anything about mobiles or 3G or that stuff.
What is wireless broadband (NOT WIFI)
i thought all wireless was in fact wifi
Once a Mercedes is up to cruising speed it lopes along easily and is happy sitting on 180+ km/h all day. Please check the speed limits in your area before attempting this…
For mobile "Broadband" the only way to go is with Telstra.
I've used unwired, iBurst, 3 and telstra. The 3 former ones all have incredibly varying speeds, most are lucky to get 300kbps. With Telstra almost always you get speeds of 3000kbps or more.
With wireless internet you really get what you pay for in my experience.
I used to have wireless broadband when I was living at home, we got sick of telstra and their line rental and phone bills. So we signed up with Cirrus wireless broadband and then we signed up with Engin which is a wireless VOIP phone services, by doing this we terminated any existing use of Telstra, because I hate them. The price of wireless BB is a bit dearer then regular BB, the coverage was good for us and quite fast, faster then using telstras old lan line.
I'm With Virgin Broadband @ home they call it..
Phone and internet in one for $60..
512k speed but you get 700k plus. Allowance is 4gig per month then it's shapped to 128k for the rest.. P2P are throttled @ 64k, Uploads are i think 312k uploads don't count on you allowance.
Phone is free voicmail, Free local calls, Free STD calls, Caller ID on the modem and it's private not listed all included..
However as of now this is halfThose that signed before 26 November this year got more for $60.
Now it's $60 gets you the same speed but 2gig throttle is now 64k P2P is 32k.
Pay a extra $10 to get 4gig per month..
All 24 month contracts. If you pull out they charge you around $15 per month for the rest of your contract.
And set-up fee's there isn't any as all the equipment is there's you don't buy it,
Best thing is no more Telstra at all. And i am able to watch streaming video as it's fast enough.

Wireless BB is using the mobile phone network to have BB anywhere.
Not being in Aust you miss out on those wonderful (not) 'Ive been everywhere man' ads lol
Ohhhh ok i know now, i use that when im travelling away from home.....i actually use an australian vodafone as it is way cheaper to use the roaming here in europe than a standard europe one. You can also use the sim inside the wireliss stick in a mobile phone.
Have a look into it...if they arent available look on ebay if there is one selling with a good deal.

Im thinking about hooking a browser pack to my phone now, & using that as a modem for a couple of months, see if I really get the value out of being 'wireless' that way I dont have to buy a modem or go into a contract......
Using vodaphone means I would only get GPRS speeds here at home as there 3G network (like all the other companiesonly works in adelaide its self
+ a few K's outside, no hope for the slums like me
Ahwell....... I shall experiment!
i reckon mobile broadband is the biggest waste of money... unless you are constantly on the road i couldnt justify the cost.
Telstra rang me up the other day trying to get me to upgrade my contract going on about their nextg crap and offered me a motorola v3xx on a 49 cap. The guy kept trying to sell me on mobile broadband and using my phone as a modem and such and i basically told him i dont care. The next day i went out and signed up with optus and got an n81 for $0 on a $49 cap, and optus paid out the rest of my telstra contract! My new phone has wifi on it, when I'm out i can almost always find an unencrypted wireless network to steal internet from... thats the best way to do it!
