Whats that burning smell?

OK, so im driving along with my windows down and i smell this burning smell, its a dry burning, almost like when you boil water to nothing....

Have been having issues with cooling system so i start there... nope... problem goes on for a few days, smells like its coming from drivers side bonnent... hmmm.... smell brakes, nope, smell clutch... nope.... tires... nope.... WTF IS IT?????


.... was getting maccas jsut before, lent down into the passenger footwell to move some stuff to put coke there.... cope that smell... look under the car....

PLASTIC BAG MELTED ONTO THE DAMN CAT AND HALF WAY UP THE FCKING Y PIECE!!! GRRR!!!!!

any tips to geting it off???

i wld be getten some stong stuff on it. soak a rag with petrol or metho and start
rubbin on that area shld get it off

the last thing you wanna do is add some sort of a solvent or removal agent to the exhaust pipe exterior.
drive the car, when plastic is all burnt it goes hard, and will form little lumps. once it's formed these lumps a screw driver will do the trick. simply hammer away at the plastic. but do avoid solvents and petrol substances. last thing you want is extra fumes in car.

It's funny you posted this, my mate and I had out project Gemini up and running, and a bag melted to the extractors..... it freaking reeks . But yeah we got it off by scraping it off.

u cld do it that way. but there wld not be anything wrong with usen abit of petrol or somthin. u apply petrol to anything it evapourats very quickly its not gonna stay there like a bit of oil or somthin and slowly burn.
