Its 45c under the carport here in Mildura by our thermometer,officially 41c yeah right 12 % humidity

Currently it is a lovely 21.4 here in Bunbury. Had a few scorchers over christmas though, 38 and 39.

about 40 here. not going outside much and aircon is doing its job just nicely in here. Suspect the wind direction might have changed, perhaps killing a few degrees but not going out there to see!

I like the heat, but if i don't have to be out there then i like my aircon too!

*edit, neighbour put his temp stick in the sun and got 61* too, so mabey mine aint broke. Its now in the shade to get a proper reading....will let you know how hot Warragamba is shortly.

Yes there have been hot days before, but find it a bit tiresome that not only does anyone who displays a responsible approach to the survival of the planet get labelled as "a smelly tree hugging hippy", but then be expected to suffer in silence and isolation from the very problems that have inflicted upon us by the actions of those who have made larger personal contributions to the problem in the first place......ie the "ill drive my v8 and I dont care how many penguins die mentality" [/B]

Sorry i am not quite understanding what your saying?No matter if i drive a V6 or a V8 it basically pushes out the same emissions. I will always drive what car i want and use aircon when i want. What i was trying to say was if people are concerned about global warming, then surely it would be hypocritical of them to drive a car, use an aircon etc

Yes, that is the v8 mentality coming through, Im not sure whether it is just ignorance, stupidity or just an inflammatory behaviour.

The point Ill make again, is yes some people are concerned about global warming and make great sacrifices in their lifestyle to achieve that. Others are not and hence temperatures have increased making life more uncomfortable on the planet for everyone else. They hippies are then expected to have to suffer most from the problems caused by the ignorance of others? They have probably ridden their bike to work all year, have solar hot water and heating, solar cell on their roof which has fed more back into the grid than their total energy use for the year, but just one day of the year and they want to run their a/c to stop their young 2 year old dehydrating etc, then we have enlightened environmental vandals sitting back in their chilled room watching their plasma tell them they cant because they will be hypocritical of their cause.....

What have some of the hippies been campaigning for.......solar thermal power stations....... But they'll never provide base load and what if the sun goes out....... They'd work pretty well today and for the other 360 days of the year that places in Australia away from the coast dont have a cloud in the sky. But the vandals have denied us such benefits because it doesnt fit in with mining profits.

Ahh so i am not allowed to drive a V8? Sorry but i don't see that as a bad thing, as i said its no worse than V6 drivers etc.

Just curious although off topic, what happened to all the scare tactics of the cooling era in the 70's? When we had too much rain, colder temps etc?
As far as i am concerned, global warming is just another way for gluttons to make more money. I may eat my words in 50 years time, but from what have read from both sides in the last 3-4 weeks(i know i am no expert) but i can form my own opinion, its just hyped up lunacy.

I think someone summed it up perfectly the other day. If the earth cools in the next few years, will it be because of what we have done? All the doomsdayers will say i told you so, but how can they prove what they are doing now has or had any effect?
