green laser pointers

Hey guys.
I have seen thoes green laser pointers on ebay wondering if they are any good?
Also what are good quality ones and what to look for in the specifications?

I'm pretty sure they're illegal in australia now after all those incidents of people shooting them at planes/helicopters.

my mate has one of those illegal ones and after he showed it to me i can see why. he aimed it into his lounge room which is big through the glass door and the whole room lit up and the distance they go up into the sky is rediculous

Well, I own a car, not for driving on the street, for crashing into the neighbours house across the road....

Using the pointers to annoy people because it is fun is pretty irresponsible. But I suppose children will be children.

That is like saying why do you need a 6 cylinder or V8 as a street car. Or even a modified 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder. Or any type of street car what does crazy fast speeds.

I know its in the USA but.. wow, shows how misuse with these things can get you into alot of trouble

Also read a few other articles and these lasers can cause some serious damage to the retina in your eyes, even when exposed for a short period with a weak 5mw laser.
