Does anybody know if they're classed as an illegal weapon or not? Have seen a couple on ebay and was thinking about getting one but not sure if I'll get in trouble from Mr. Plod or not. Unfortunately the local fuzz were less than helpful.
It depends on where you carry it. If it is in your car then I would say it is illegal. At home, no, entirely legal. Until you threaten someone with it. Carrying it around in a suitable package would also be legal. Like most things, the item itself may not be illegal, but rather where it is and what you do with it.
I'd love a decent sword mounted above the TV. Too expensive!
id say that they are legal to have.........but not if u start chaseing some guy that looks at u funni lol jks
Well I don't plan on carrying it down my pants or anything like that.
Got a blackberry & ivy problem and thought a machete would make light work of it. But it would be in my car from time to time so wasn't sure where I'd stand if a cop pulled me over and decided to have a bit of a look see and discovered it.
The officer I asked wouldn't really give me a straight answer. Didn't say it was illegal but I don't think he wanted to give me the green light to go and buy one either.
I thought you could but only if it was in a locked display cabinet.
Oh yeah. Well..... Don't blunt it then lol. I'm sure if you just used it in your backyard and kept it in your shed, you'd be right. Don't take it off your property and you should be sweet.

It took me about 4 hours to clear about 3 square metres today. The problem with that method is that the root system so so long that it is too hard to pull on the rake. It just doesn't give. And the blackberry sucks too because I need to get down to the base so I can poison.
Ahhh shiz, 1000 square meteres. That's alot of blackberry bush. Well yeah, go either the machete, or one of those electric hedge cutters, or a chainsaw. I recommend the chainsaw for the fun factor. LOL![]()

u sure u cant just spray it, blackberry's grow real well where i live and the people usually just spray them, they dont have to trim them first.
I was looking at a nice one from a sword maker in Japan, beautiful blade and he only makes one at a time all traditionally made and its a handed down craft, he guy that was gonna bring it over for me died
You could in theory get a lockable case and put it in there (kinda like a gun case?) maybe ask around ur local gun club if they sell travel cases for the guns, if its stored in a locking case i dont think the police would be as quick to jump to conclusions..... but double check!!!!
Legal to own &legal to use.
Illegal to carry on oneself or in your car except when you are bringing it directly home from where you bought it. Make sure you have it in the boot of your car and carry the receipt on you the day you buy it just in case you are pulled over highly unlikely but you never know.
Hubby has a collection of swords, knives weaponry and there are standard laws as above because he imports them sometimes we have to go to customs to pick them up and thats the way we were told always to do it and never had any problems.
We had blackberry problems 10 years ago, found that Roundup was the best killer of all buy the one the farmers use you can get it from produce stores the ones that sell farm produce and stock food.
Good luck though if you going to use one to cut it all back, I'm sure you tire of it very quickly after swinging it around a few times although it can be fun hacking at things!
actually one of my m8's has a large collection of knives and other types of blades, hes a member of some international knife guild, and he can own weapons, that are usually illegal.
ive got one but it might be diffrent being in the country and having a gun licence
i got pulled over with 3 shotgun's and 2 rifles my machete and an axe+ chainsaw camping gear a couple of bowie knifes the copper just wanted to know about the gun's and what calibre they are etc etc turn's out he was a gun nut lol
my point is if you have a putpose for it being there say with secetear's or a shovel your fine everday stuff like going to work the shop's etc might be diffrent

Screw the icecream...
Who wants a moustache ride?
I have a machete here at home. Just sits in the room. WOnt say which one, but its just sitting there. I use it all the time. From cutting up bones for teh dogs, to busting open coconuts, fishing, to gentle pruning of plants.... Ill sit on the front lawn and swing away, people walking past or not. I live 10 doors down from a cop shop, 8 doors down from a cop, and have never had a problem. Its nice and sharp, but has its own sheath to rest in. It doesnt come out alot, but im not scared to when I need to. I paid 20 bucks for mine too.
Wanted: Honest woman
But then again here in Vic a copper pulled my mate over on the way back from hitting a few balls around a baseball field and confiscated his baseball bat he had in his boot along with his mitt and the 2 easton balls he had as well.
And he one of the most non violent people i have ever met, no way would he have ever used it for anything else.
