Just save your dosh for GTA IV... that game is going to be MAGIC!

Call of duty 4: modern warfare is unreal ive got it for the 360 and cant stop playing it (mostly online because i finished the single player) My girlfriends brother bought it for his ps3 and it looks a bit better than 360's.
Oblivion is another good game but its not to everyone taste.
They are the only 2 i've played on ps3.

it really depends on what you like... the games i got are
F.E.A.R - first person shooter
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Assassins Creed - 3rd person rpg?
NHL 08 - sports
NFL 08 - sports
Ninja Gaiden - 3rd person ninja game
Resistance: Fall of Man
i think they're all good games,Kane and lynch has gt good graphics, storyline and all but the controls are too sensitive and weird, i guess you just gotta get used to it. Assassins Creed is my favourite by far
but it depends on the games you like i guess
Never Forget You're Unique... Just Like Everyone Else
I'd Rather Roar Than Whistle
Assasins Creed i have that too forgot about that i have that aswell. Very good game but the only downside i found to it is it's too short and for me holds no replay value i finished it in a week and haven't played it since
Ninja gaiden is on it? that game was on the original xbox. There's a number 2 coming out soon
gta iv and resident evil 5 thats what im hangin out for then ill buy the ps3,

Looks unreal, unfortunately the end game is a pretty poor product IMO.
The game mechanics are terrible, and you can shoot to the side of someone and the bullet will somehow magically hit them and when you do aim at them, they miss... The levels are pretty damn ordinary as well in my limited experience of playing it. And the graphics look pretty ordinary compared to most next gen titles when actually playing the game.
I'd give it 5.5/10 it's that bad.
lmao u caved in, u get a decent price or wat?
lol $700
couldnty take ps2 anymore boring just waiting 2 buy my tv now and il b set

i'm considering buying a PS3 JUST so i can get the new GTA
motorstorm is a kick ass game
its also a piece of ****....but if you wanna save $100 and buy something inferior then go ahead.
anyway...a couple of good ps3 games id recommend playing (which havent been mentioned yet...i dont think) are, ratchet and clank: tools of destruction, guitar hero 3 and uncharted.
there's a hell of alot of mad ps3 games comming out soon, some of the ones im looking forward to are, killzone 2, gta IV, devil may cry 4, unreal tournament, metal gear solid 4, gran turismo 5, final fantasy VIII, burnout paradise, star wars: the force unleashed, and most of all....god of war 3, **** yeah!
Quagmire: My fellow Americans, I have not been entirely truthful with you. I did gagoogidy that girl. I gashmoygadied her gaflavity with my googus. And I am sorry.
I admit ps3 is better in graphics but it is also newer of coarse they're going to be better. But imo online play is where its at and xbox has it all over ps3. Have anyone tried play playing cod4 online on the ps3 we sat there for an hour and could find a single game. There only 2 major film companies making blu ray movies and the hd war is undecided.
I dont want to start this whole ps vs xbox here. I would have a ps3 but im going to buy one.
PS3 all the way! I want to buy one just for GTA IV
*A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%.
*PS3 has 8 (7+1) kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 only 3.
*PS3 uses Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb. Xbox 360 uses regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). HD-DVD for 360 will cost you around 180$.
*PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers. Xbox 360 up to 4 Controllers.
*PS3 has wi-fi included (except 20 gb version). Xbox 360 wi-fi will cost you around $100.
*Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that the thermopaste on CPU can melt, drip on motherboard and successfully short circuit it. The stock cooling system on the PS3 is ment to be better than aftermarket setups.
*PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 you have to pay.
*There were reports that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.
*On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.
*PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.
*PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control. Wii has it, Xbox 360 doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) in 1st quarter 2008.
*Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) you get new functions and improvements.
Just a few things iv found on the net (mostly from yahoo answers) that others might be interested in hearing![]()
Let me start off by saying I have both a PS3 and Xbox 360. I have many games on each and this is from personal experience, plus I work in software development and I know the complexities in development that both the PS3 and xbox360 face which may or may not be known by your "average" user.
It's coming out on both.
I know this more than most, I'm on my 4th xbox. Every time I've only been without my xbox for less than a week, all except for my last one I managed just to get it swapped at the shop. It's unreliable hardware, but the newer ones are having far less issues. My concern with my ps3 is the blu ray drive, just like dvd was with my ps2. Both new laser technology when they came out on each console, the ps2 had alot of problems in it's first revision with the dvd drive after about a year or so of use. So the danger period is far from over yet. I guess its the risk you take when buying a console when it first hits the market, problems are always unforeseen.
As an experienced software developer, I can tell you outright that this means nothing. The PS3 has specialised cells, meaning that these extra "cells" although looking to be alot more, infact really can only process limited data but the data it processes, it can do it very well. The 360 has generalised cores, which means it can process any data, but not as fast as a specialised core. The xbox360 also has a much better bus architecture for communication between the CPU and GFX chip.
The inherant problem that the ps3 architecture poses is that it adds to development time quite substantially, so much so that most developers are actually avoiding using the specialised cells and just using the generalised cores, thus rendering all the extra cells useless except for irrelevant tasks. In fact even the xbox 360 isn't being fully utilised. Most games that are hitting the market are only using 2 cells/cores on each platform.
The software is incredibly difficult to develop not only because of the architecture, because even at release time, Sony did not release a software development kit that could utilise the full power of the PS3. I have a cousin that works for THQ, and he said that they absolutely despise writing games for the platform. Whereas the wii and x360 are a piece of cake.
It means very little for games, unless you include HD videos in the game content, most games use in game rendered content. Great for watching movies though.
Yet again its just a numbers thing, I barely ever use 4 controllers, let alone ever think about using 7.
Wi-fi in my experience is great for just downloading content. I have wi-fi on both, and the lag over wired is quite substantial. I don't play games much so it's handy for saving on wires running around everywhere, but you need to use wired if you plan on playing online.
Yet another fault of the 360. It's been fixed on later models.
LIVE is alot better product though. Many more players, better awards system and game matching. The PS3 at least has things like a web browser and stuff though which is handy.
I haven't had a scratched disc yet
Linux has never interested me really. I don't know why people want it on their consoles, I have a fileserver running linux that does the job alot better. It's more a gimmick than anything.
No disagreements there, it's crap.
If only they'd change the shape of the controller, it feels so dated now. Analog triggers as well as buttons would be nice. I use sixaxis very rarely. Most games don't even have support for it.
So does xbox360 and wii.
At the end of the day you're gonna get fanboys protecting each console to the death. From personal experience, the graphics on the xbox 360 have been better, although the PS3 certainly is starting to make that ground back up as developers get used to developing on it. In reality in another year's or even 6 months time, there will be absolutely nothing between the two consoles. As always, it will come down to the games, something that the 360 has the wood over the ps3 at the moment, with exclusive games like Forza, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Gears of War etc etc. Next year will be the big year for the PS3 with Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo due out. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out over the next year or two. The PS3 has Japan, the 360 is winning over the rest of the world though. Warner bros going exclusively blu ray may have a massive impact on sales as it seems the HD war may almost be over.
they certainly do! in a big way as well, ive seen some rediculous scratching and laser burns on 360 discs coming through work. its kinda funny....they advertise and show pics of the 360 set on its side (upright) but if you copy this and put your console like that your likely going to ruin every disc you put in it. so a note to 360 owners...lay your 360 flat!
the ps3 discs are incredible hard to scratch though, they look mint even after sliding across a wooden floor![]()
Quagmire: My fellow Americans, I have not been entirely truthful with you. I did gagoogidy that girl. I gashmoygadied her gaflavity with my googus. And I am sorry.
I have my 360 upright, never had one problem with it.
Ive heard that disc scratching only happens when u play a game say lying it flat, and then move it upright while the disc is still in it. Wont happen if its just upright or flat, only if you move it with a disc in.
Im not really biased, i have a 360. Originally wanted a ps3 but didnt wanna fork out the extra 400-500 when i got mine.... but then 2 weeks after i boiught mine ps3's came down to 699 lol, I dont care though, im happy with the 360.
I was always a playstation fan boy and always disliked the original xbox, but when i first played the 360 i really enjoyed it, thought it was a MASSIVE improvement on the original one.
Also think the 360 controllers are much better than the ps3s.
Would love to compare the 2 on a full HD LCD on the same game.
Would love a ps3 for gran turismo though.... best game of all time!
Im thinking of purchasing a 360, whats the best price I can get one for now? Or say in a few months time, say June, anyone have an estimated price on a console with 1 or 2 controllers.
