    Uninsured here. SUCKS!

My magna was with SGIO, It doesnt bother me who I go with as long as I dont pay through the roof and can pick my own repairer.

BTW RAC (Ring A Clown) mainly use 2nd hand parts, so I wouldnt reccomend them.

I hate being (relatively) young! My car is a stock standard VS Exec, absolutely nothing special about it, and I pay somewhere around $1400 a year for full comp, insured for $4900!
    Btw I'm 23, rating 2. Apparently they don't give you rating 1 till you're 25?

And what if you hit a 220k BMW? What happens if you kill someone? Loads of what ifs. It isn't worth not being insured.

Don't tell them it was a taxi? I don't understand what difference it makes. You choose an greed or market value, they ask how many k's, any damage, vin etc then your insured. I have never heard an insurer ask if it was a taxi.

Why not? Say you travel a lot. Even better simply say you have no idea, you bought the car because it was cheap.

IF I should need to make a claim would they get/see/acess any history on the car though that might effect the claim?

I doubt it. I would go with the, no idea, we just bought it because its cheap route. That way even if a history is done they cannot deny you. You had no idea it was a taxi. From what i understand they can't request an ownership history without your permission.

We looked into getting 3rd party for PEAKN6 the other day. A few places wouldn't touch it just coz the EFI, 4spd, and borgy diff conversion. Then we went to CGU who said they'd insure it. For 3rd party fire and theft it was gonna be bout $30 a month for Brad (he's 18 on his P's), and that covered the 18's on it to, and apparently the market value of the car was about $2400!!

But the same day he got the paperwork to fill out, it got defected....and now that we're building up another car for all the good bits to go in, we'll wait to get that on the road b4 we worry bout insurance again.

Asked them bout my wagz...but they won't insure me coz of all the mods. When I was in there they got me to write all the mods down....used both sides of the A4 sheet of paper, crammed most mods on the list, altho I still forgot a few. They said to ask JustCar or Shannons.

Im only worried coz I dont want to get in the ****. Although I'm pretty good at playing dumb lol.

I as much as anyone hate the feeling of being uninsured. Perhaps I should give it a go, no harm in trying. Thanks for the help

Gee seems like there are plenty of people running the gauntlet and not having car insurance. Need 3rd party property minimum imo. $637 seems reasonable for an SSV. How old are you?

even if it is an ex-taxi there is no reason why they cannot insure it, if its road legal then nothing matters. do you quotes online and ring the insurance company and tell them you quote number in 5 minutes you will be insured. no one can deny you insurance because of what your car was PREVIOUSLY used for.

Just be warned though they charge you for any changes, and read the PDS (or whatever it's called) before you buy.

Yeah rating 1, and the youngest driver allowed to drive it is 30.

You have to list all people, and give a driving history, for who will be driving your car.

30?? screw that, i have no age limit on mine except the driver must legally be allowed to drive the vehicle.
