    Default annoying lounge room design

in an attempt not to thread hijack a similar current thread. I have a problem to do with electrical wiring in my lounge room/the general setout of the room.

I have speakers mounted to the walls with the wiring running through the ceilings which is fine but the stupid design of our lounge room really prevents me from putting the TV back against a wall so when you walk through our front door you see a mass of wiring/ the back of the TV and when I sit on my side of the lounge I have the pleasure of looking at another mass of wiring.

I am at a loss on how to setup the lounge room as this seems the only way to do it. we plan on building a large brick extension games room which will turn into a lounge area and this area will be replaced with a pool table/bar type area (essentially turning this into a games room) but that wont be for another 3 or so years and I don't really want to live with our lounge room looking like this for that long any ideas ?

Maybe get some cable tidies and build yourself an entertainment cabinet, keep you out of trouble?

Whats the problem with putting the TV on the wall that the A/C is on and then putting the lounge with the back near the entrance?

The only drama with that would be the placement of the rear speakers. But I agree, put the TV in the corner, one lounge against the wall with the skinny window and the other with its back to the entrance. Put the speakers on small stands.

My guess would be, so that when the missus gets home, he can change the "cricket" over before she sees what he's watching?? lol

But i agree, turn your lounge 180, would make more sense.

with the current setup only one small curtain is blocked with that arrangement you will block all of them plus on one end and and you have a small annoying space that you walk through to get into the lounge area if you do that.

I would of put one of the lounges in line with the small window near the door facing the far wall (1st pic) the other lounge against the right hand wall (where it is now) the table leave that where it is. And on that far wall i would of got a nice solid wood lowline entertainment unit.

do you mean the couches facing each other with each of their backs to the wall ?? tried that, theres not enough space in between couches to put a tv there unless you wall mount it plus youd have to turn your head to look at the tv instead of looking straight at it not to mention you have to squeeze past the coffee table just to fit in and sit down

lol ive tried every way you think yeah might be ok it just way dosent fit, the size of the room and furniture is deceiving so you notice how crap it is when you actually move it around things are too offset so nothing matches up properly
