Commodore drivers the majority of hoons?

Hey whats the go with this, I'm wondering why my choice of car is dis proportionally represented here.

50 hoon cars seized per week | Herald Sun

I don't think the commodore outsold the falcon by that amount so why are we hooning so much, or getting caught for it at least?

In general Holdens are cheaper to buy, so most ********s buy them over the falcon.
What i find amazing is that P Platers make up some 6% of all drivers. Yet in Vic alone are responsible for 44% of all impounds. Also laugh that Geelong has the 3rd highest amount of impounds, no surprise there, every idiot in their stock 6 is always trying to race you off the lights. Obviously people are too thick to learn that they CAN LOSE their car.

I wonder if people that were doing burnouts were actually doing burnouts rather than quick kicks in the guts. Over 300 caught fishtailing etc...that **** should see car crush instantly, burnouts however...as much as i hate them, if they are done at slow speed they are relatively safe.

jeez mate they couldnt afford vl 't's in geebong i lived there for year's and a "hot car" to local wanker's was something with no springs and black steelies on the back lmao rest stock and the chick's (use the term very loosely) loved em they thought they where summernat's car's!
mind you i had one of the toughest cortina's in the crap hole and still had retard's in there springless vl's trying to race me its like c'mon mate i got a mild 302 v8 you got a 3ltr 6 pot and a pod filter and a hole punched in your muffler bye a screw driver lol

HAHAHAHA, so true, however, Geelong has now upgraded, everyone drives VL's WITH Turbo badges or 5.0 litre VS Style statesmans with loud exhausts. They still try to race everyone they see, they still in part look like crap and the girls....well you wouldn't pay for most of them in a brothel..so nothings really changed

I think the burnout at slow speed can be safe in the right environment. But havign said that, most of hooning can be safe in the fright environment. It's called a race track.

I had a couple of friends that had gone to a legal drag setup by the police. Apparently the road safety message just wasn't getting through as people tried to race them from every set of lights and down the Calder freeway at every chance they had.

So do you guys think it affordable price, or are these model commodores just made to do up or are more fun to drive?

Oh and what do they really class as being a hoon? If I take off too fast, or get some wheel spin am I a hoon? I reckon P platers are caught more easliy, the longeryou dirve the more discrete you are when hooning...

They quicker people realise that if you keep certain things to a time and a place, the quicker the government will back down as they wont be catching anyone. Actually VL/VN/VP/VR/VS are extremely cheap, you think they are expensive? Even VT's are dirt cheap now.

Those 6% are P Plate drivers based on all licensed Vic drivers, not just un-educated society left overs as you put it. That being said, I know of a few guys who have had their cars impounded, one owns an F6 Typhoon, the other owns a VZ SS. I hardly doubt society left overs could afford either of those cars.

As for Burn outs, if you really think they are dangerous you have issues. How many drivers have you heard of that do a burnout then die? How many people have been killed because someone was doing a burnout? I am dead against burn outs because of the way it makes roads look, especially in nice areas, however, it is not dangerous to smoke up the tyres.

Most of the time cars that are impounded are fairly stock, sure they have different wheels and a loud exhaust, but it is rare to see a heavily modified car impounded.

2004 model Hyundai Getz. That car is gutless and yet it is impounded.

Have new drivers go through various driver courses, actually teach kids how to drive, not to pass a licence, open up more motor sport complexes for the state to use. Force people into driving courses when they **** up. Make non probationary drivers do similar courses across the board.
Stop masking the ****ing problem with bull**** road laws that solve nothing and actually do something that will save lives and make our roads much safer.

For the record, you do realise that since all the restrictions have come in for drivers, the road toll in these age groups has actually increased! I am all for certain restrictions for a period of time, but bypassing the real problem like you are saying is pathetic as this government wanting to make all the changes.

i learned to drive in a vl turbo ... and the engine work in my 5L would have cost more then your s pac and im only on my Ps yet ive never been done hooning in any of my cars or lost any points from doing something stupid.

I lived in Geelong and the best years of my life were heading to the drags on Friday night and cruising around Eastern Beach and down Moorabool St.... Do they still do that ****? LMAO! Move on people! Was fun but.

Commodores are good cars, good price, relaible. There flexible, I can lower mine, chuck some mags on it, tint the windows it will look hot and I could still sell it to a couple of grandparents when I'm done with it. I have a holden NOT because I hate Fords but because my entire Family has Holdens and the price was suitable at the time.

IMO I think young wankers in those ricers are much more dangerous on the roads.

So i see you pulled some stats out of your behind.
As for seeing cars that have been impounded, i have been to 2 sites, one in Geelong one in Western Melbourne, on both visits i didn't see any real modified cars. I presume you go into these sites an evaluate the cost of said vehicles, then decide how heavily modified they are by sticking them on a dyno, pricing any accessories etc. What a joke.
I also have a family member who tows these cars, out of 27 he has towed, not one has been performance modified in any way.

Couldn't agree more, my first Car was a 13b Turbo RX2. Did 10's all night long at Calder, it was actually the best car to learn car control in. It only helped me on the road.
Until the government starts teaching people how to drive instead of teaching them to a get a licence, nothing will ever change.
