Default Newish Commodore Petrol Flap Missing

    Hello,
Just curious as to why so many of the newer commodores seem to have a missing petrol flap.
In the last few weeks i've seen at least 20 cars without them. Is this a common problem?
    Cheers

when my mate was getting his front bar sprayed the bloke took his petrol lid off the car so he had something to match thr paint with. so if someone cant drop their car in for a while to the panel shop they can match the paint and spray the bar up for you so u can just pick it up without leaving your car there.

    thats my guess anyways

yeah, they are really flimsy. saw a guy break one off his car yesterday funnily enough. He cracked the poos and threw it clear out of the servo.

The main reason it is made out of SHIT plastic.
Holden has them at $32.20.......................catch is they are just undercoated (white undercoat would look so wonderfull on my lovely dark blue VN ute)................so then you have to take it and get it sprayed.

It is the greatest ripp off ever...................GMH should hang their bloody head in shame. It should at least be made of light metal.

Does anyone know how I can contact them Im not letting this one rest...............A Currant Affaire's looking good.

kinda on topic, i had an idiot skyline customer come back after he had levered his own petrol flap open with a big screw driver. damaged the hell out of it, kinked and chipped the paint on his quarter. complaining red faced mad "bloddy f..ken this an that" ALL my fault, obviously.... i was like... um.. walked to the car, pushed the lever down (CLEARLY printed on the lever push for fuel, pull for boot) flap pops open...

    i just walked off.

the thing can be a small bar that goes across the centre of the pipe or a sharp bend in the neck.

I've never had a problem syphoning fuel from one of my holdens, never have been able to do it to a ford or honda I owned though.

Yeah, have also seen a lot of VT-VZ getting around up here with different coloured ones, or missing.

I've never had a problem with either of mine, old VT and the VY, the VH doesn't have a fuel flap anymore so I don't need to worry about that one

Wait...you're having a sook because a company makes a generic product? Maybe we should call A Currant Affair on all those people who make Airfix models, or Warhammer models, because they sell you something made out of plastic, then you need to buy the paint and paint it yourself. WHAT A SCAM!!!

Yeah I had the same thing happen when I first got mine, I was sitting in the servo for ten minutes before I checked the manual.

Yeah, Dad had the same thing when he got his VE...its quite obvious when you think about it, really...unless you're used to earlier model Commodores having the lever.

I hate it when the little flaps on the air vents break too - while you're at it, can please you tell ACA they should be made from some kind of titanium alloy? Also I'm sick of tyres wearing out, they should be made from an indestructible form of heavy rubber. Seriously, they should do this - sure they car would weigh 4 tons and cost as much as the GDP of Bolivia, but at least that darn petrol cap would stay put!
