    Default Hi :) I'm new!

    Hey ppls,

I'm new to the forum and need lots of advice!

I'm currently looking to buy my first commodore,
hopefully either a VS or VT.

I've never bought a car by myself so any helpful adivce is handy.
To the best of my knowledge I should look for-

    low km's -- under 150,000
    duel fuel
anything except executive, preferably series II.
    duel air bags
    abs
    full service history

any other simple, sneeky easy to identify problems that go wrong with these cars I could check for myself on initial inspection myself??? Any suggestions welcome

    Welcome!!

If you can't afford a VX or later model then get a VS. VT is sluggish in stock form (V6).

VS and VT have the same output power with VS being lighter hence it goes quicker.
It will be quite hard finding a decent VS under 150,000k's so I'd say try and get at least a VX later if you can.
    What is your budget??

    Goodluck.

First thing to do is set yourself a price of what you're willing to pay. Then go from there. If you can afford it, go a VXII onwards because they fixed the IRS problems that plagued the VT and first VX, and to some extent the VS with IRS.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho

welcome, take the time and get a manual even if u get the VT it wont feel as sluggish, but yeh a VX S2 would be nice to. as for what to look for, have a RAA or motortraders inspection done on the car and drive it around, look for leaks at rear of motor and gearbox and diff, check the colour of the oil and then ask when it was last changed, check coolant colour, jst simple things like that could catch the seller out lying about little things on the car. but yeh take your time mate, dont rush and buy the first car u c, unless its perfect
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone

I'm still trying to work out why my VT feels faster then my VP..

    Anyway welcome!..

Try a Nice Berlina In VTII good options safety and pretty cheap as well.
Also consider Acclaim in VX.. And don't pass the special editions equip lumina etc.

But also what is your price range.. $5000-$10,000??
