it will probably bolt up but it would have different electricals and slightly different mechanicals

ok, i was under the impression that it is the same box and the same motor in the two

they are the same box, but where slightly updated each model release, there might be a slight chance that the vt/vx box will work as the vy engine management is quite similar to the vx
