These days looks sell more than the quality of music. We're influenced in Australian music by America. America is controlled by large music labels who pump out cookie cutter groups, boy bands and crap like the spice girls by the dozens. It also has a lot to do with purchases of music. Girls around the age of 14 purchase the largest segment of "legal" music these days. So what they buy is what is sold. There isn't as large a demand for quality music like there was in the 90's when Alternative cd sales were massive.

I like to listen to a lot of music from smaller labels and the closest thing to rock is still coming out of the uk. In the UK you can be as ugly as a $2 hooker, but if you produce good music you will be huge. They still have cookie cutter groups though.

I'm starting to get into the free internet radio stations, (free with a free copy of winamp). I hope this is the future cause it sure sounds a lot better than what's coming out on commercial radio.

I think its 'if we go dutch' - thats the term for paying your own way on a date, rather than 'touch'.

r.h.c.p and nirvana,pearl jam,soundgarden etc are the types of band's i grew up listening too (thank's mum) then she became a metal head and i started listening to old metallica and sepultura,pantera,venom etc when i was 8 at least i was raised on decent music and mum didnt listen to country or pop crap ey i dont listen to any of todays music (hence when my electrical ariel stuffed up i yanked it out instead of replacing it dont need a radio these day's lol)

whenever ive listened to triple j at work it seemed like mostly talentless stoners with very few decent songs. i wont listen to it
