I don;t classify most crap as music these days, it seems anyone can get a record label, as long as you look good and you can be marketed. Heck, look how terrible all the Australian Idol people sound until they get to a studio

These days looks sell more than the quality of music. We're influenced in Australian music by America. America is controlled by large music labels who pump out cookie cutter groups, boy bands and crap like the spice girls by the dozens. It also has a lot to do with purchases of music. Girls around the age of 14 purchase the largest segment of "legal" music these days. So what they buy is what is sold. There isn't as large a demand for quality music like there was in the 90's when Alternative cd sales were massive.

I like to listen to a lot of music from smaller labels and the closest thing to rock is still coming out of the uk. In the UK you can be as ugly as a $2 hooker, but if you produce good music you will be huge. They still have cookie cutter groups though.

I'm starting to get into the free internet radio stations, (free with a free copy of winamp). I hope this is the future cause it sure sounds a lot better than what's coming out on commercial radio.

Pffffft, can you blame rapper's for talking like that? None of them stayed at school long enough to learn bloody english. They get rich from the douche's who can relate to their struggle for welfare payments and the struggle against the white man who always seems to be breaking their balls for all their crimes they committed. yea, it only got to me today cos it was playing during lunch. we had a discussion on how lame it was
