Default Volvo Drivers.

Today I was driving along behind a row of cars in the left hand lane, a car up ahead wants to turn left. I see the indicator come on so I move into the right lane so they don't slow me down, and I had to turn right at the next set of lights anyway. Waiting up ahead is a Volvo wanting to turn right out of a side street onto the road I was travelling along. They had come across the opposite lanes and were sitting in the median strip gap waiting.

There was nothing in front of me between them and me and they were a fair way up so I thought tey had plenty of time to go. They didn't. They waited until I was about 10m from them before they decided to pull out. Needless to say, I like ABS. Anyway, a bit further along, a car is beside me and because this dick head in the Volvo was going slower than the limit, the car beside me was getting up beside the Volvo.

No prizes for guessing what happened next. Said dick head pulls over into the left lane, no indicator, no looking, almost side swiping the car that is now directly along side. Volvo dick head swerves back into his lane and brakes quite severely causing me to brake hard again myself. Then he procedes to change lanes, again, no indicator and plod along at about 40km/h. I pass him and lo and behold, old woman that can barely see above the steering wheel.

Why do people who can't drive anymore insist on getting behind the wheel of a Volvo. No wonder Volvo drivers get such a bad rap.

I bet you were going of your head man, I know I would have been. Probably would have followed the old coot and popped 2 tyres so she would have to get it towed home and not be a menace on the roads.

here that would have got a *555 call to the police communications center to report a dangerous driver

scary that they now give such drivers access to a beautiful Yamaha designed and built V8 in the new S80

sure, by no means a 6 litre Gen 4 but still a scary thought

I think owning a Volvo says a lot about a persons driving skills. Im sure most of them KNOW they are **** drivers so they buy the safest car you can get because they know the crash from their crap driving is inevitable and they want to survive it by being in a cocoon because they know they dont have the driving skills to even have a remote chance of avoiding the crash in the first place.

I reckon we should have mandatory retesting for people who have more than 1 at fault crash in a 12 month period and testing every 5 years if you are over 65. Just watch how much the road toll would decrease and driver attitudes change if retesting for crap drivers was introduced. This would be a REAL penalty, not like now where you just open your wallet and hand a few dollars to the govt, people would actually be inconvenienced by having to re-sit the test so people would be driving real careful so they dont have to study the road rules for the next month to pass the written test and have a day off work for the driving examination. Why is it that you can be pinged for doing 5kph over the limit because it is dangerous yet you can have as many at fault crashes as you like and as long as no one is injured or killed you can keep driving with impunity until you do kill someone.
