it would be a good job but you will need patience, mechanical skills (in the training) and good problem solving skills

well im a sparky, an auto elec would be ideal for you if you like the fiddley electricial problem solving, otherwise if you like electricity and you like doing things on a larger scale then ide say be an electrician.

but if you have an interest in electronics and you enjoy it then go for it, thats exactly what i did

Cheers, it helps to get some first hand knowledge, i was working with an electrician for a few months, learnt a fair bit in that time and loved it.
If i could combine that with cars, thats gotta be a job you would enjoy.
I take it you go through TAFE, which i think im too late for this year?

Shouldnt be to late for TAFE mate, unless theirs no vacancies. Doesnt normally start to late feb. and if your doing an apprenticeship then it doesnt matter when. Just talk to your local tafe.

Hmmm im from the central coast, and i looked at the TAFE courses, it says that Gosford, Wyong and Ourimba dont actually have that course, i think the closest is Hornsby.
Gotta line up an apprenticeship as well :P

    Hey mate,
Not sure if they have it in NSW, but in VIC we have "youth pathways" its ran with "workways" their designed to help young people who are thinkig about or who have left school. Best thing i ever did was going to them after having know luck anywhere else. Touch wood im starting my traineeship at the end of this month. So if you have them up their i strongly suggest going and having a chat.
