Cool Falcon sinks to an all new low...

Ford only managed to sell a poor 1300 Falcons in January, the lowest number of falcons ever sold in 1 month.

This means the Ford Falcon has dropped to about 15th on the sales charts!!!

Then yesterday Ford cut the driveaway price of a base-model Falcon by about $7000 and added another $7000 worth of extra equipment in an attempt to revive flagging sales of the nameplate.

How many VZ's were Holden selling when the VE launch was imminent?

I have seen first hand a new XR8, I have to say, I love it. The blue it was painted look awesome and the car itself look very nice.

I don't think Ford are too worried about their cars not selling.

Another 2 months before the new Falcons are out, selling only 1300 a month until then is not good news, and Ford won't like it. Its simply not enough.

Im sure Holden were still selling almost 3x that before the VE came out.

    For those who care

2008 Ford Falcon Orion picture gallery

The XR8 i seen the bonnet bulge looked bigger, in one of the pics, it looks a little larger again.

I was also lucky enough to catch a glimpse with next to no covers. Got to love friends in high places.
If the finished version looks as good as what i seen, the Senator will be traded.

VZ sales plummeted as well leading up to the release of the VE. People are just tired of them and fleets would be holding off until pricing details also.

I was going to say the same thing. Looks horrible. Maybe they just put it on to confuse people or something, no way it will be released like that!

Haha nah they have put the cladding on to disguise the scalloped doors.
Look at the first large pic, that was taken in America where they did not have the stuff on the doors.
Those cars are heavily covered unlike the VE in the later stages where they just wore a car bra front and back, ford are giving nothing away when street testing.

How much more can you sell a car that is almost the same as it was back in 2002??.

Not much in the fresh idea department. The XR8 is almost the same all over.. I herd that many people moan about the dated VT-VZ look in 2004-2006.

As I said, VZ was still selling almost 3x that even on its runout. Falcon sales have never dropped this low in one month before, and yes there have been new falcons before, and people were also tired of them and fleets were also holding off as well. 1300 units in one month is simply not good enough and neither is 15th on the sales charts, thats 14 other models that are outselling the falcon.

The fact is, Ford still have alot of units left to be sold, at 1300 units a month... They wont sell them before the Orion arrives.

Not a fan of the boot on it...car ends too abruptly and in the wrong shape, i know the VE has probabaly the same length of boot protrusion, but something doesnt look right to me in those photo's

Hopefully its decent enough to further motivate Holden to make the VE Series 2 even better.

Well there is no new wagon, they're keeping the BF II wagon for tradies only. After all, Ford have the Territory so they dont need the wagon for much other than fleet sales to Telstra etc.

They're selling bugger all cars and they don't seem to be interested in selling any more. Went to Coffey Ford last week because the Mrs. is upgrading her 2003 BA11 Futura. Salesman didn't want to know us. She bought a new Lancer instead!

MY brother has a BA Fairmont.. Only 2 things pop up for an upgrade.. 6 speed auto and 190 engine. Past that it's basically the same car of 5-6 years ago. And then to be honest i don't know if you could get a 6 speed auto on the BF Fairmont??.

I just think they put to much into the BA because of the AU. Too loose most of what should be new in the Orion. Which is why the Orion other then a fresher looking body wont be all that new under it.
