ok i work for a local council (i'm not tellin which one) lol and pretty much we were doing some work in a reserve (me and another bloke in a truck). I was driving, and weavin around the trees, when i saw this green box in the ground, i dodged it, and thought i cleared it with my wheels. Then when we took a turn suddenly all the sprinklers turned on! we both hopped out- i left the door open i was in such a hurry... and i didnt realise these sprinklers turned in circles... we were tryin to get the tap turned off in the box we (i lol) crushed, all the while water was bein sprayed in the cab! After a frantic 5 mins of drivin the truck out of the line of fire- dryin the whole dash, window, steering wheel etc etc etc with rags, we called the hort crew to come by and fix it up. good thing it started to rain a bit after to hide all the water... :P
anyway, what things have u done/seen to make you think "god... its one of thoes days..."
wait... hold up... council workers actually work? so, you are saying they dont all sit on their eskys all day??
Jesus fkn christ, that is the first time ive ever heard of coucinl workers working, you should get a bonus
naa m8 we dont stand around- we chill in the truckhahaha cricket??? that must be dodge for them to get away with it :P
hey we work alright, not in a rushed manner like other 'contractors'we get the job done properly and on time
.... u guys r just jealos... rofl
haha yeh when i was putting an engine in my vs wagon and things not wanting to play nice damn exhaust and engine mount and trans lines lol then it not running proply and me waisting heaps of rime going over things 20 milion times and it not working only to find that it was caused by a little tiny bit of belt stuck inside the harmonic balancer
and school gets like that sometimes same as work lol
project vs wagon...5speed
vs wagon acclaim
I knocked a bottle of red off the shelf from about chest height when i was dusting them, it fell and i thought "Oh crap, going to break" but it just bounced. "Phew" i thought.
About 10 minutes later, i was on the bottom shelf cleaning, knocked one, it fell about an inch and smashed.
Had to use every ounce of self control not to start throwing random bottles onto the floor in a rage![]()

Nah, was a McWilliams. Nice smell of red wine all through the store im sure
I had a bag break on NYE with three bottles of sparkling in it. One bottle exploded when it hit the floor, sound like a gun going off, and a shard came ricochetting in my direction, hit me on the lower arm, near my wrist surprised the hell out of me

Been there, done that, done it myself too. And it usually happens that the bottom most bottle, depending how it falls, gets blown into dust. More haste less speed i guess
(actually had some old woman say that to me when a bottle fell over in her bag because i let go before she'd put her change purse away)

I was the only one who could do Phone recharges/voids/change/ringoffs etc. so i was running around like a headless chook while trying to find a replacement supervisor, fix the broken register (which was register 1 where our cigarette POS is) and doing price checks for everyone at the same time. We had to have someone standing in the kiosk to chuck packets of smokes over to register 2 to keep the smokers line moving. During this time the power went off twice (middle of summer and ETSA sucks) meaning the backup generators had to be fired up which means finding two sets of keys and opening up a rarely used door that always jams and a safety cage. By the end of that day i ran out the door. Who knew being a checkout chick could be so hard??
I have one of those nearly everyday lol... I think the worst day would of been a few weeks back taking the hubby's car over the pits, go to the lic centre in my car 38 degree day with 2 kids, air cond stops working, and to make it better I forgot VIN number, had to go all the way back home and get it, go back to lic centre and get the permit, go back home, go to get kids into hubbys car, seatbelt plug missing, had to take carseats out, pull seat out of car, find plug and put it back in.
THEN get to the lic centre FKN hot as about 15 more cars there than there was 1 hour ago, line moves forward, ooo my turn next, go to start car battery ****ing FLAT, ring hubby, hubby arrives at lic centre 20 minutes later (have let 2 people in front of me so far) and car starts without a problem.... AWESOME fkn day NOT!
I had one a while ago .Had to take some parts down to our other factory, so i loaded up the work truck ( F100 ) and off i went . Got to the other factory and jumped up on the back of the truck to undo the knot in the rope . As i bent over i burnt my butt on the exhaust stack , which in turn made me jump and trip over the pallet on the back truck then burnt my hand on the other exhaust stack as i tried to steady myself. The forklift had a flat battery so after spending 10 minutes looking for the bonnet release cable on the F100 , Which i later found on the passenger side i jump started it with the truck.
The forklift is about a million years old and the forks along with the whole front end is very worn out .Unloaded the pallet and placed it in the factory inbetween two rows of goods .Went to reverse out and the whole front end of the fork came off and jammed in the pallet. So i couldn't go forward or back , Also had to climb out of the forklift through the back as there were pallets of goods either side .Cracked it big time ,reversed the truck out of the factory right over the water meter. After turning of the mains and getting soaked in the process , had to use a whole can of WD 40 on the dissy and plugs to get the truck started .I thought God , and it's only Monday
