Anyone have un-natural shades of hair colour?

Ive always had a thing for dying my hair erm 'interesting' colours.

As a teen this is fairly easy to get away with, purple, green, blue, pink, & mixed shades.
Going into jobs I kept it mainly to purple rinse type stuff over a darker base, so basicaly I had 'brown' hair with 'purple' highlights. retail jobs didnt seem to mind. Ive been blonde often too.

Now few years back I decided to try pink. I think it looked fantastic. (my customers thought so too! & told me so! lol) Pity my work didnt. I was asked to dye it back. I was also asked to remove my peircings.

I now find myself in a job where I can have these things, as Im not in a 'public' position & work are fine with hair colours etc...

I went from the blonde I started there with, to black/blue (wasnt full on blue, more of a highlight in the right light kinda deal), then I bleached bits & went in browny/purple, with lighter purple highlights as to not freak things out so much. Its faded now and Im not so happy with it.

Im thinking of bleaching the lot again & doing a bright blue...... its been about 10 years since Ive done this sort of thing so radically. At 27 am I too old??


Although I would have just done it years ago, Im starting to wonder if I look silly? IE not 'acting my age' so to speak?

Also the make up & wardrobe change that bright blue hair may need kinda worries me lol


Anyone have their hair coloured un-natural colours? What work do you do? Do you also have body piercings?

PURPLE!! Ill have to bleach it still + use paintbox purple to get it bright enough, but I really like this!

Grr I had piercings... took them out coz I got heaps of funny looks, and it was just too much drama to keep them in, but I miss having them and want em back . I dye my hair a darker shade of brown and everyone has a hissy fit about it lol, So I keep it boring and normal.

ROFL my first shot at getten my hair to go blonde it ended up being a real goldey colour. iv dyed my hair blue b4. but then had a shower the next day and it came out this real green colour looked terrible

A couple of years ago I did my hair bright blue using fudge. Was ok I guess, but I havnt bothered doing anything since then. As for piercings I have one ear pierced with a 10mm tunnel and hopefully soon I want to get a labret piercing (center of lower lip). But thats as far as I would go, I dont like the look of being in a shrapnel accident

My hair is usually purple, whilst ive had red, blue and at one stage i had bright pink for some ungodly reason, now its just black, got tired of having to redo it every 3 months... Im also covered in peircings. See if i can find a newish one... Thats got most my facial pericings, still gotta redo my third lip ring and get my eyebrows done for thr 3rd time, i keep having...accidents with them.

I did the blueberry rinse thing when I was a teenager, looked a natural colour unless I was under intense light then it looked purple. I haven't dyed my hair with any weird colours since I became a mother at 20, just not my thing any more.

I only have pierced ears, when I was a teenager I pierced my ears a few times in home ec. All I wanted was both ears pierced twice and my dad wouldn't let me, because he thought I would look like a slut. So I pierced one ear 2 twice and 4 in the other just to **** the old man off, also got a fake nose ring at the time lol. But I have since let all the piercing close up except for 1 piercing in each ear.

If you want to colour your hair go for it, so long as you don't care what people think because there will inevitably be people that think you look feral etc. If you can handle this and its what you want go for it.

Thx Julie, Im a mum too, Im glad my kids have decided I look 'cool' & dont seem to be embarassed by me. Which I guess what was worrying me a bit.

i had copper bronze hair a few year's back i was razor cut and just below my ear's looked sick as (my natural colour is black)
my mum was cool when i was in primary school she had fluro pink hair

oh forgot to menchine i have also got two eyebrow piercings and used to have my nipple pierced but i had to take that out. im currently 21 years of age

I've done the purple hair before and got a few odd looks- and I'm 20 but screw them I say. If you like it and are comfortable with it then that's all that should matter. BTW- I don't think 27 is old at all Go for it!

My ex from about 6 years ago was an apprentice hair dresser when I was with her and I let her practice on me a few times. My hair is naturally black, so she put some lighter colour browney blonde tips in it which didnt look too bad, nothing extreme. The she had the idea of putting in a blue shade so it would kinda look blue when the light reflected off it the right way... anyway I ended up looking like that blue and green monster from the movie Monsters Inc. This was a day before my year 12 exams were starting too, quite embarrassing!

I've got a few piercings but nothing too exciting. Had 7 piercings done in total but only wear 3 now. I wear 2 rings in the upper part of my left ear, and a small ring in my left tragus. My left lobe is pierced but I don't wear anything in it. Had another piercing in the upper part of my left ear but that one got infected, as did one in the same spot on my right ear. And had my labret done but had to take it out for work reasons, and my mum also hated it... got it done for nothing though so I had no dramas taking it out.
