Has anyone had any experience with HDMI to DVI-D (to connect a PS3 to a PC monitor) cables bought off of eBay. I have seen some very cheap $15 to $30 whereas ones in regular stores are selling for $150 to $350. I googled it but every website i find seems to be advertising/endorsing a certain brand of cable. I haven't had any experience with HDMI, don't really wanna spend $30 on a dud cable that will barely carry a digital signal 3 ft or crap out on me.
Heres a couple of links to the cables I'm talking about;
Compare this for AU$12.99 ($8.99 + $4.00)

I know the more expensive ones will be better quality but with a digital signal traveling over only a short distance i wouldn't think the signal would be very susceptible to interference at all so there wouldn't be a noticeable difference? Thanks![]()

Our cables are virtually useless going to our plasma from our divx dvd player, the sound is always outta sync no idea why, i just gave up on it lol.
dont know how the reproduction will be with these adapters, but i run a hdmi connection with my digital box and lcd tv and its great. was running it through component but have found hdmi to be more a crisper picture and vibrant colours. what monitor r u running it to and why do u want to run it through it?
A Samsung 226BW i picked up for $400... it is 22" widescreen with 2ms GTG. It is a computer monitor so only has VGA or DVI-D inputs. The conversion shouldn't affect the quality at all seeing its a digital signal and HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI-D. HDMI is good because it carries more than just video but the visual quality shouldn't differ from DVI-D (although it will differ to analog component video).

If it is only caused when using HDMI I'm guessing it's the problem to do with the decoding of the video and audio being out of sync in the television. It's called HDMI lag. The tv's (mainly Samsungs) decode the video slower than the audio so the picture arrives on screen before the audio. Google it and you will find a lot of info about it. I think there is a fix or auto lip-syncing in HDMI v1.3 or you will need an AV receiver with a sound delay function.
I run one from my MediaCenter PC to Plasma it great and only payed $11 on ebay
