Introducing the Air Car
Havnt searched the web for articles or anything, just saw that and thought...
**** YEAH! 1.5 Euro's for 200k's, thats cheap as!
Simple technology and a great application. 200kms from a single tank is quite reasonable... Thats about what a motorbike gets.
Ill get one, keep the V6 for when i want to have some fun...
This is awsome! 08 is gonna be a good year!

lol, think the ACCC would step in for Air price fixing?
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
- Theodor Seuss Geisel
"petrol" stations will add C02 to the air so they can sell more of it cheaper...
Shell will market Ozone(03) for high preformance air cars...
mobil will soon after release there version of the same product but include some abitrary number, say senergy 16,000
Soon, air manufacturer will notice the by product of making air, O, and release it as O-gas... soon, in an effort to increase O efficency, evey one will get O-conversions, subsidised by the government, and claim no ill effects.
Shortly after, air prices will have sky rocketed to over 10c per tank and eveyone will be outraged, theyll blaim the governemnt for there damn air taxes... theyll blaim the air companys for their cartels....
in the end, a group of smartasses will come up with another alternative energy source....
Human Powered Cars....
To Be Continued.....

Sorry guys, but to get real for a bit.
If you do the #s on the amount of energy able to be stored in the air tank and the efficiencies in getting it in and out and the weight of the tank, it's not any better than lead acid batteries, so you'd be better off using those instead.
Compressed air S/C, allowing a downsized (SI) engine at greater (= more efficient) loading, that's interesting.

As cheap 6 has said ^. There's no such thing as a free lunch, the energy to compress the air is what has to be addressed as it ends up being the stored energy in the tank. Same type of thing if we had all our cars powered by giant springs......where does the energy come from to wind up the spring.
No doubt the air car has some great mechanical benefits, least of which would be noise and zero pollution at the point of use.
All of our non hydrocarbon/fossil fuelled alternatives such as hydrogen, batteries etc have the same basic problem atm, where do we get the energy to make the hydrogen/charge the batteries without burning fuels that liberate CO2.

It's just a reverse air compressor. Rather than a motor driving pistons that pump air into a tank, the tank supplies air that drive the pistons that turn a gearbox.
Compressing air generates heat, won't that contribute to global warming too?
You could possibly have a 6 cylinder engine and use 2 of those cylinders to pump air back into the tank.
Ehehe the old perpetual motion laws.
