I took this pic yesterday of this great ford owner and his good lighting system on the boot

    OMFG!! WHY?? WHY??? WHY???..........

Its one of them trailer lights you put on the guards

Also you can tell he's from PMQ by the paint off on all corners of the car
there good around here the oldie's have white out in there glove box so when they run into you in the car park they get it out and paint the marks on there cars

Its a bit like those Silvia drivers who turn there fog lights on while they drive, be it night or day.. I got a mate with a Bommo Ute, and he drives with his fog lights on, i asked why, he said it was 'intimidating'.. I dont talk to him anymore....

good post. 100% agreed. They are no problem whatsoever. When i drive and see them on doesnt even cross my mind. You should be watching the road not looking for foggies.

They're not just for when it's foggy.

Studies have proven that driving with your lights on in daylight makes you more visible and is there'for safer.

We use to have a small set of 'driving lights' on PEAKN6 (VK) and we got warned heaps about it from the local fuzz....we kept getting warned about getting fines so we decided to leave them off.

you can be fined if you have the fag lights on when it isnt foggy here in nsw. not illegal to have them just illegal to have them on when not foggy.

My car has em and I USED to (not any more) have them on but my car is so low that I can drive underneath trucks all Fast and furious styleZ~Fully sick!~~!~!~!

Ehem in all seriousness if you have decent properly adjusted lights theres no need for foggies (when there is no fog).... but honestly I get blinded more often by idiots who raise their car but don't adjust their lights or stock cars (especially VOLVOS!!!) that dont see the need for properly adjusted headlights!!!!

to all the people who reckon that it makes your car more visible is a tool- what cant you notice a cars behind or towards you without 'fog' lights, i can never understand why people have them on in the daytime its dumb- what, the sun doesnt provide enough light-your going blind! and yes i find people whose cars have their foggys or headlights turned on in the day is a bitch coz you cant use your rear view mirror if theyre to bright and if i owned a car with foggys id only use them at night or in the fog, is it the 'cool' thing or something and yes i know some cars have the feature that their headlights stay on again very dumb

Fog lights are designed for use in the FOG!! Hence why they are called fog lights. They're much brighter and angled higher (also due to lower position) than normal headlights. They are illegal to run when it's not foggy for good reason. They are annoying, don't serve a purpose (unless it is foggy) and can damage peoples retinas!! Oh no wait... its okay to have them on because its 'cool'. Morons.

I would class them as Driving lights, not Fog lights.

i think the fog lights are illegal to have on if you only have your parker lights on with them. its ok to have normal beam head lights and fog lights on at the same time i think.

if i am driving on a highway/country road i will always put my lights on, simply for the fact that it makes u stand out a bit more. oh and the road i drive to work on is called " dead mans pass" so i take all the precautions i can

I take all the precautions i can because of the extremely low driving standard SA seems to have.

When you own a 1 in 300 car, you'll want to do what you can to avoid morons driving into you. Has worked many times so far, seeing a car about to pull out in front of me, then stopping after noticing the lights.

Yeah I have my lights on too, A- When its raining, 2- when its Dark, 3- when its overcast.

And how do you know they just noticed the lights? did you have the EXACT same situation when your didnt have your fog lights on and they pulled out? You dont think that they just happen to see the "car"?
