    Default Roads and rain

    Hey all,
Just wanting to see if any one else had noticed that the roads seem to be failing apart with all this rain ??
Im in Sydney and the roads around my area seem to be getting potholes all over the place and im pretty sure that its the amount of rain we have been having.
I know that queensland and Victoria have had huge amounts of rain aswell so would like to hear from you guys too.

Only thing that gets worse with rain around here are the idiot P Platers whose cars go from 130rwkw to 1130 rwkw.

There were a couple of flash floods in streets here end of last year and the streets had heaps of potholes in them, most of them are fixed now but they were horrid for a while.

i nearly fell in a pothole in the syd cbd this morning, and if i had've, my van (daily) wasnt gonna be getting out of it. It was about 3 feet wide, and just as deep. Never mind buggering your wheels if you went in it, i'd be more worried about whether i'd have made it out!

Yep, and with the roadworks going on (resurfacing and adding 2 lanes), it makes it worse where they have the crossovers from the old road to the new road.

Here in the Wide Bay (QLD), on the road between Woodgate and Bundaberg (in Isis Shire), the council only recently re-did some of the road right before the rain. Now its ****ed again...all that time, work and money, for nothing, simply because they did a **** job.

yup all our repaired roads that only just got finished have already fallen apart. I collected a big piece of tar clump the other night, heard it go bang against the wheel arch then the crumpling of the clump

idiot P Platers whose cars go from 130rwkw to 1130 rwkw.
I second that. I saw the most stupid thing a few weeks ago on the main motorway, the rain was that heavy that the breakdown lane and lane 1 was stopped with people who had pulled over and stopped til it passed.

I was in lane 2 of 3 behind a truck doing all of 30 kph. Even with the wipers on super dooper fast I really couldnt see past the bonnet.

Red P plater in an excel decides he can do 90 or 100 in the right hand lane, even tho the road is covered with a good 3 or 4 CM of water. Problem was it looked like he (or she) was struggling to handle it, I dont imagine there was much grip ...
