hey guys im looking at getting a datsun 120y its in immaculate condition only done 88 thousand.. just wondering would this be a good runaround car as my commo is costing me too much to drive around. cheers guys.
they were a good little run around. i havent seen one locally for at least 8 years now. they were good back then so if its in good nick you shouldnt have any probs.

as long as its a manual it wouldnt be to bad![]()
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed
FOR SALE : supra 5 speed box suite holden v8 $800
Would be cool, fun little car to drive.
But i wouldnt expect GREAT fuel economy.
Our sigma was a 2ltr, we expected a tank would last forever, the thing used more than my old v6 did lol.
Thats the problem with the old carby motors, especially if you got a lead foot
How much you paying for it? Got pic?
me mate has a couple on his dads farm and we thrashed them around for a week strait and was fun as i recon their a wiked car was actualy looking for one for me first car lol but yeh has to manual![]()
project vs wagon...5speed

i had a 120y first car i had was pretty good pity the rust got to them tho. they are really good for economy (remember its only 1200cc engine) i put a 1400 in mine and it used to rip the arse off of geminis easy. wish i had another one recon theyd be a cult car by now lol
yeh my ute got fair bit of rust conteplating wether 2 cut it out and weld it back up with sum sheet metal or just bog it up lol i cbf

Forget the old boat anchor stories...or have a bit of fun and play on people's long-held hatred of 120y's...
Stiffen up the suspension, what on some wider steel wheels with the original hubcaps (go to 13" rims instead of the 12" ones, if that's what it has...), and then trawl the wreckers for a 2 liter Datsun motor out of a Bluebird with a five speed. Work it a bit, chuck it into a car which weighs bugger all in the first place, and you'll have some fun without it costing the Earth...![]()
