just thought id post up sum funny/interesting info.
talking to my girlfriends dad last night over a few beershe was telling me a few funny stories and what not. long story short we got onto what he (Police man and other cops) drive on a day 2 day basis. the list is quite odd and is as follows (WA Specific)...
*Holden Commodores (VY-VE)
*Ford Falcon (XR6, XR6T, past 2 base models)
*Suburu WRX
*Holden Astra
*Toyota Tarago (lol)
*Nissan 180sx turbo
*Nissan 200sx turbo
*Mitsubishi Magna (didnt know exact year, looks similar 2 the AU though)
*Nissan Triton (06/07 models)
*Nissan Nirvara (05/07 models)
*Toyota Camry (06/07 models)
*Toyota Landcrusier/Pardo (past 2 models)

there where a few moro but i cant remember. i didnt realise they used so mnay different cars, sum are country area only use. anyone else know of other cars that are used...

99% of unmarked 4WD's are used by the TRG, I have seen the WRX getting round, other than that the only others I have seen are Commodores & Falcons, more VE's than anything lately.

the town I used to live in had a marked mistu 380 cop car, was funny to look at, considering all other local marked cars were falc's or commodores.

The other day i was cruzin on a highway at bit under 100 following a white Toyota Landcrusier, was about to overtake him when a motorbike flew past then all of sudden the roof racks of the Landcrusier light up, and what do you no. unmarked police car. The bike got pulled over about 1km down the road. 1st unmarked Landcrusier ive seen.

Plenty of Unmarked Landcruisers and Pajeros in Canberra.

Also Ford Territorys, VE Calais' Mitsubishi 380s. We also have a Hyundai Accent, White VW Van done up to look like a tradies van (even with the plumers tubing on the roof), there's an unmarked FPV getting around as well as a new purple VE SS ute.

My cousin's husband is a cop in another state. I met one of his cop buddies who does surveillance. The car he had for chasing people was a WRX. Would never have picked it as a cop car.

Peugeot 307 HDI (diesel), Land Rover Discovery 3 4x4, we have Hyundai I30's locally for non operational duties, Mini Cooper S (new style), Smart ForFour or whatever it is, Bankstown once had a Lotus Elise mainly for publicity reasons, Fairfield area had a blue WRX STi done up in 555 Rally livery with the Police stickers over it for a few years, Mitsu 380's, and Ive seen a Toyota Aurion but it couldve been a RFS (fire brigade) based car.

Oh and I have a photo of an unmarked VZ Adventra

And my personal fav is the Quickksilver Acclaim aka my car which is ex unmarked but typical (still Acclaim isnt often used, usually its Executive)
