My daughter will be 8 in just over 2 weeks, & still have not come to an agreement on party venue!!
She wants to go to 'The BeachHouse' but at $30 a head + extra for cake with a minimum of 10 kids, its definetly not my first choice.
*sigh* anyone got any good ideas?
Ive thought about offering Bowling party (we've done that before), Movie party (cant find any info online about if they do a party package, may have to make our own)
Id rather the party was around 6-8 & not minimum 10. & Not end up costing me over $300!!!
After her 6th birthday destroyed my carpet, we have a no party at home policy.
Anyone know what petting zoos & jumpy castles cost? & If public parks can hold them without permits etc? lol
You will run into problems with public parks, the jumping castle places charge like a wounded bull due to public liability, you would need to contact and get permission from the council and the council if they approve it would require a copy of the jumping castle operators public liability insurance. I wouldn't bother with that idea to be honest.
I'll put on my thinking cap and post some ideas later.
A mobile animal farm will set you back $190-$200, I dont know of anything your end of town, but will ask a mate of mine who has 10yr old twins girls in Adelaide surely she would know of something
You can try searching Kidspot Australia - Parenting and pregnancy resource: baby & kids activities, clothing, furniture, advice they advertise local companies & venues.
Do you have a local skating rink?
Why do I blame the kids today? It's largely parents.
She's 8 and already had birthday parties? Whatever happened to the traditional family birthdays?
My FIRST birthday party was when I was 8 with 7 friends at McDonalds and that was a stretch for my parents. The next PARTY I had was my 21st.
Jumping castles, animal farms? Pffft. I spose I could have dreamt about those when I was a kid!
Family values are almost extinct.
Thats why we do it....
My kids, you dont want to hear the parties they have had and my eldest is 5 youngest is 4 LOL
No wonder kids expect EVERYTHING they want.
Eh my boys get spoilt on there birthdays but they dont get anything really during the year. It takes me about 3 months to just do the invertations (Im a scrapper)
Scrapping is cool! My sister does it!
I gave my daughter birthday parties each year until she turned 6, her first bday was a big event mostly relos and friends but was more so for my hubby and a milestone for our first baby, from 2-5 years were mostly smaller gatherings family and friends. Her 6th party was 30 people at maccas didn't have a 7th we took her and friend to luna park instead. She had a party this year at a play centre. I've made a rule that she can only have a party every second year.
We did the big 1st b'day party with my son too he recently turned 2, no party just had my folks and brother/sis come over for dinner. Didnt want to do another party after hosting xmas at our house. It was nice for a change not to have all the stress involved.
My kids probably are spoilt, well they definately are but whats the problem. We teach them the value of things, we live comfortable enough to afford them these things and we love them to death. I don't have many vices, I don't drink, smoke, gamble, go out much, I don't spend much on myself I'd rather spend it on my kids, makes me happier![]()
Dont go the jumping casle my bro busted his shouulder on one of them when he was 11
apparently i was a nightmare kid - i used to deliberately TRY to deflate jumping castles. Suceeded once or twice lol
Scrapping is NOT cool, its addictive, time consuming and damn expencive! LOL But i love itI'm making Cody's party invitations ATM a jog saw puzzle invite inside a cute scrapped noodle box.... Gonna take a looooong time!
My boys have had animal farms, clowns, pro bubble blowers, play centres, fire trucks, helicopter joy ride's, and this yeah no friggin idea!
I have never had a party, so I guess I'm living through my kids lol
Bowling is great value for money, we give our two kids a party every second year, and they have a couple of friends over to go to the movies the other year. less stress!
Water slide gathering for your kid.
just pretend that you have water tanks
