HSV W427 7 Litre, dry sump, sub 5 sec 0-100 km/h. Based on the GTS but with the wick turned up a bit (lot). They are all the same color as the VL Walky.

I thought the E Series already cracked the sub 5 second mark?

It looks good, brakes are friggin huge. Don't like the wheels and I think it's a bit much for HSV to ask people to shell out $150k for a car that only does 0 -100km/hr in 4.7seconds.

What does the CSV model do it in?

The Skyline GTR is built from the ground up at the same cost. It runs to 100km/hr 1.2 seconds quicker. And would hold it's value longer.

Don't know the specs on the M3 but pretty sure it would hold it's value longer as well.

Would have preferred to see crazier styling and more money spent for the price they ask. Anyone feel a bit underwhelmed by it?

Seriously, the last 2 "special" HSV cars have been anything but..

    I'd prefer a second hand E39 M5 instead.

0-100 in 4.9 seconds, 4 door sedan, and it doesn't need a 7 litre dinosaur lump to do it either.

As put in the other thread on this car:

    W427 key highlights*

    Exterior
All new Front Fascia exclusive to W427
All new three piece rear spoiler in carbon fibre
    All new 20 inch wheel

    Interior
HSV performance seats in full red hot trim with W427 logo, steering wheel,
gear shifter and console lid in full red hot leather

    Powertrain
7.0 Litre, LS7 Engine with HSV specific calibration
    o 370kW @ 6500 rpm
    o 640Nm @ 5000 rpm
Over radiator style cold air induction system with high flow air filter
Dry sump lubrication system with 2 stage pump
Hand fabricated aluminium oil reservoir, with internal baffles for high G
    loading
Front mount, 13 row engine oil cooler
Ceramic coated, high flow four into one extractors
High flow catalytic converters and exhaust system (3 into 2 ¾ )
Active bi-modal rear mufflers for exhaust back pressure management to
    improve noise quality
    High strength limited slip differential
New high strength six speed manual gear box (TR6060)
GMPT LS7 Clutch with new actuator and pedal assembly for high clamp
    loads
    Suspension
New springs, 30% stiffer than GTS
Revised ride height 20mm lower than GTS
    New stiffer rear suspension bushing
    All new MRC calibration
    Brakes
New 6 piston front braking system (50% increase in pad area)
    Strap drive, 2 piece floating front rotors (380 x 35mm compared to 365 x
    32mm one piece on GTS)
    High friction pad material

Thats alot of extras man. Those brakes alone are massive $$$ Its much more than just a 7L version of the GTS.

Plus its hand built once it gets to the HSV factory, not sent through a production line like other HSV's.

And lastly, they will build like 4 a week, they will be a VERY exclusive car. So me thinks they will hold their value much better than a Nissan GTR.

If you are a new car buyer with over $100k to spend on a car. The choices you have is quite large. You're even talking second hand Ferrari territory. No holden is worth $150,000. You can stick anything you want on it and it's still a holden. It ain't worth $150,000. You'll have some cashed up bogan's who will buy it but the people that can really afford it won't bother. For the same money there is faster better handling cars.

Never mind the fact that it's under tuned from the factory. These should be 400kw not 370kw. You buy a car worth 150k you shouldn't have to go get a post factory tune. It should be a bullet from the factory.

VS GTS-R's are rare because no one bought them cause they were ugly. There will be a few of these and they may depriciate and the go up again, only if they don't sell.

Never mind the fact that in comparison to others in the sports car field for the same price it is slow.

I reckon the Coupe 60 would look better like this. A bit rushed, but it looks OK.

Brakes are wicked, wheels look crap, front end looks like the middle has melted and dripped down in a huge waterfall of plastic then hardened halfway down.

    Overall: FAIL.
