Nah, he doesn't just get away with just a blood nose, he will now have to live the rest of his life knowing he killed someone by driving like an idiot.

Personally, i'd rather be dead than have to live with that.

Heaps of people came out to try and help but we couldn't get a single door open. Thing was bent like a banana!!! SES said she was probably killed on impact. They've still got the street roped off and the cars are still sitting in the middle of the road. Freaky!!!

Nice to see a community come together and help this person.

    Condolences to the unknown family.

    Poor woman, RIP.

And hope the idiot does think about her everyday, and the innocent family he has just taken her away from.

I'm extremely upset by what I have seen today. It has kind of made me take a good hard look at my own driving habits.

Glad my wife wasn't home, she would have been hysterical!

I think the rules are different for each state. If in Vic he could be charges with culpable driving, that will give him about 3 years to think about what he just did.

Not really,if she was hit right into the drivers door the inpact doesnt have to be extreme to kill somebody.A slight hit to the temple area can kill.Dont forget too,she was elderly and the elderly dont hold up as well as younger people.Thats what killed my grandfather,a fairly minor accident.

Guy in Skyline driving well above speed limit. Won't speculate on what speed he was doing but I do know he was well above the 60km/h speed limit. I was in my front yard picking up rubbish when I heard this guy come screaming down the road and looked up about 2 seconds before I heard the impact. Didn't see the impact because it was obscured by a tree.

I think the other car came out of a side street and he hit her square on right on the driver's side. Launched her car 20 metres down the road where it came to rest on the other side of the road. I live on Station Street. It goes Station street, train line then Nepean Highway. I had a pretty good view of it bar the actual impact.

Both the cars are currently in a yard right near my house. I could take some photos but is that kind of insensitive? The Hyundai is an absolute mess!!! I might go take a look tomorrow.

Not really, when you think about it even 60 kmh will have quite an impact.

Indeed its a terrible thing to happen but the guy needs his head kicked in... when i wanna act like a smart ass on the road i keep it to the skidpad at the local dragway. its common sense not to act like a tool on the road. I have witnessed a similar accident when i was at the uni library on a wet winter morning, some smart ass P plater showin off to his trady mates spun it round a round-a-bout lost it and pinned this lady against the back of her car getting her grocerys out.... i ran out of the building to help but the ambos bet me to it.

    Pretty nasty stuff to see.

if that is the case...i think this really shows why older people need more comprehensive and mroe frequent testing. This is the 4th time in as many weeks across Australia that this has happened. While it is sad, it shows that while young people may be idiots, older people can't judge speed and distance which is just as dangerous as being an idiot. I had a stupid old tart turn inf ront of me, the Senator flicked sideways I was so hard on the brakes. I followed her home and she called me stupid for even thinking she would do such a thing...

How dare you, she's probably had her license since the days where you just drove the local cop around the block, and your licensed. Its obvious she's a better driver than you, what with your big nasty V8 and such

I was stuck in the traffic for an hour, but as soon as I arrived at the site of the crash, I was speachless, How does a car end up looking like that in a 60 zone???? not a chance!! this car had been hit real hard!!! more like at least 90k's..... anyway, sent a chill up my spine, that's for sure!!

And in regards to the older generation not knowing how to judge speed etc, If you have been leaving home from the same street for 20 years, and you know from experience that if a car is 50mtrs away, you have time to pull out safely, as the speed limit is slow for that area.... why is it up to you(the elderly) to judge the speed of a car that has just entered view. This guy was probably doing double the speed limit....therefore halving the time of arrival.....Not an old lady's fault!!
I'm sure if it happened to you, you would be fairly angry with the driver!!
Laws are there for a reason!! stick to them or pay the price, in this case, Killing someones Mother, Grandmother ........

    Throw the book at him!!
