just wondering if anyone on here knows to remove ur nokia navigator 6110 face plate to replace it with a new 1
If you do things righ people wont know you have done anything at all...
Just drop the phone, does the trick.
1) take off battery cover
2) look for any sort of support or holding
3) lever out support or holding.
This is purely hypothesised, as I have not got a Navigator. But it should be similar.
I've been wondering that myself...I've got a new case coming for it and hope it isn't too much hassel to fit...
By the way, this would have to be the best phone I've ever bought...good camera, easy to use, and the GPS is great. I've been testing it out on a phone holder on my dash, and I was surprised how accurate and easy to use it is. Cost a lot less than my sons N95i GPS phone as well...![]()
I have the 6110 phone as well. It's the best phone I've had to date. I love the nav on it and the camera isnt too shabby either.
But can you ring people on it haha.
Got this phone, I hate it had so much problems, People would call me and i could hear em but couldnt hear me and it laggs and the gps would go whacko. its now getting fixed becouse it ****ed me off and i slammed it on the ground causing the screen to smash180$ down the drain lol.

WARNING: This might void your warantee.
Here's how to get the faceplate off.
I ordered a nice new faceplate and back plate for my 6110 navigator. When the arrived, the back plate was of course a piece of p1ss...it has to come off anyway for the battery and sim card removal. The front however was a tricky one.
I looked carefully at the new face plate, and saw it had little rectangular lugs along the edges, obviously where it clips on. However, there was a small protrusion with a hole in it, on the inside surface up near the earphone hole. It would line up with the area underneath the plate with "GPS" printed on it, which can be seen when the phone is lid open...I put two and two together and figured that there must be a screw underneath this stuck on piece of thin metal. I took a deep breath and, using a scalpel, carefully and slowly slid it under the very thin metal bit with GPS on it, inside the top of the slide. By lifting one corner, you can see it will lift off and leave a very sticky residue behind. Slowly, without buckling it, slide the blade across a bit at a time, lifting it as you go. Once it is fully loosened, lift it carefully away with the blade, and set aside, sticky side up! Underneath, you will see two small torx head screws. The one in the center is what you want to undo, ignore the one on the left of center. Once it is undone, the old cover will snap off easily after lifting one side and then the other. Clip on the new cover (bottom slides on first, underneath the front slide assembly) after lining it up carefully (watch the button pad at the bottom...it tends to slide around a little) and then screw the tiny torx screw back in. Carefully position and press back down the metal "GPS" plate and make sure it is secure (keep in mind this plate is purely cosmetic...it covers the two screws and actually has nothign to do with the GPS function). Then check the faceplate and be sure it is seated properly all around the edges, especially left and right sides.
Bob's your uncle!
Of course, alternatively you can just take it to the phone shop you got it from and they can fit it for you, for a very small charge, and your warantee should still be fine. Seeing as how I am moving away soon for work far from where I bought the phone, if I ever have a problem with it and need warantee work, I will simply say "the new cover? Oh, a phone shop put it on for me"...
Oh, and with the GPS, be sure you go into settings and positioning and set it to "Integrated GPS", and not assisted GPS or any other of the three or four options...this way it will use the phones internal GPS circuits only, and not sneakily start looking for extra info from an internet connection without you knowing about it...until you get your next bill...![]()
