Default Stupid clock on Nokia N95

I looked at the time on my mobile, and it said 11:50am a few minutes ago, yet the actual time was 12:50pm. Just a warning to people who own Nokia N95's or mobile that change daylight saving time automatically, because it is a leap year, daylight savings finishes NEXT sunday, not today, so your phone clocks may be an hour behind.

They can take photos, have satellite navigation, video cameras, video calls, music makers, MP3 players and a heap of other things, but they can't recognise a leap year lol.

    Priorities out of whack much?

Thats odd mine shows the correct time. I don't use DST and I have set auto update on network operator time.

Does yer N95 crash? mine does lol. The way mine crashes is the functions freeze and the screen slowly diminishes like the whole view diminishing into a ball and then going to black. After that it shows up Nokia logo screen again.

(edit) Mine is the original N95 not N95 8GB version.

Nah can't say i have ever had that happen with mine. That's weird then. Because i looked at my clock after i got back from Repco, and thought i had left my house at around 12:15, but my clock said like 11:50 when i got back.

    Tripped me out hard!! LOL.

LOL, I have a Seiko kinetic watch that is probably on its way out. Sometimes it winds up to the wrong date after it gets a recharge via movement.

Nothing like a good old digital watch. But i don't wear wrist watches. There is a tendon in your wrist that has something to do with your brain, and when i wear a watch, i get massive headaches.

    Weird i know.

its not just the N95's. Any phone that you selected auto update for daylight savings, would have done as they were told. Normal DLS in SA is end of oct to end of march. This year its start of apr start of oct. I didnt think it was because of leap year? I thought it was so we matched the other states?

The date of the "Daylight saving time" will be changing in certain countries during 2007. This application updates database in the device containing the daylight saving time dates. This will help e.g. in avoiding a conflict in calendar synchronisation if the device and PC are having a different time. Please restart your device after installation for the changes to take effect.

it's not just nokia's mate, most phone's these days have an auto daylight savings function.

i found that out with my last phone a couple of years ago, i set the clock back an hour before i went to bed, then it automatically set it back another hour at the designated time

there should be a setting in your phone so it grabs the time off the server in the mobile towers, so it syncs with the towers.
