Default High Winds - Chaos in Melbourne

If it hasn't already happened it will shortly, the closure of the West Gate and Bolte Bridges. With the Domain tunnel down to 2 lanes as well

Winds cause transport chaos with people advised to stay indoors | Herald Sun

The West Gate is already down to 2 lanes and expected to close shortly!

Oh it's going ot be a fun fun fun drive home for some, fortunately I've still got 6 hours of work left... Hopefully it will have cleared by then.

I had to chase the kids tramp across the backyard, that was fun, then try and drag it back so i could put it under the garage door..lol.

It was a fun trip into the city, dust storms, branches falling, lanes blocked, idiots not thinking about others (thats a usual though).

Qld has had its fair share of **** weather over the past 6 months, I hope the weather stays like this (sunny and awesome) for the next 12 months or MORE. Storms FTL, Rain FTL, Wind FTL.

Is it cold there? Our wind has come from the north-west all day so it's been really mild.

More wind coming guys, we are still getting bursts of it here 250k's west of you so no doubt most of it will still be blowing by the it reaches geelong/melb.

Same deal though, stuff all rain but dirt and crap everywhere. Power has been in and out but seems stable for the moment.

There's a lot of traffic lights out so be careful. Now people can't just let traffic control signals do the thinking for them.

But at the end of the day I'm glad I'm not working!

Yep, those traffic lights out is a pain. As are all the mums on the road.

Driving at 15kmh and slamming on the brakes and crawling through left turns with no traffic around is ridiculous. Getting from Glen Waverley to Wheelers Hill took me about 40 minutes an hour ago.

People really need to switch their brains on at times like these. It seems everyone has the speed kills message so ingrained that they're crawling.
