Just saw an ad for the aurion again, and guessed they have sorted the problems from when the motors blew.
Anyone know anymore info?

............Toyota has suspended sales of its recently released high performance TRD Aurion, pending an investigation of an engine failure last week.
It is the crucial first release from the new Toyota Racing Developments workshop, which has bolted a supercharger on to the Aurion's V6 engine to lift power from 204 kW to 241 kW.
Toyota spokesman Mike Breen says one vehicle ''had an issue'' in the hands of a dealer salesperson. ''The issue appears unrelated to the supercharger or the engine power output,'' he says. ''At the moment, we believe this is a one-off issue.
Toyota has a commitment to the quality of our product and since this type of incident is unusual for a Toyota engine, we took the decision to stop selling the vehicle while we investigate.''
About 150 cars in dealerships or being used for marketing purposes will be inspected. ''We expect it will take about two hours per car, and about one week to run through the process,'' Mr Breen says.
I figured now that the ads are back on, there selling them again. Although i think taking it off the market for a dealer blowing a motor was extreme.

i thought i heard something about them just lowering the rev limiter to prevent engine failure with these things - seems strange to me though, they would have had these engines tested on engine dynos for weeks, running 24/7 in an effort to TRY make the engine fail and see what happened. yet they get released and soon after a dealer blows an engine....wonder what he did to the damn thing, lol.
id own one, i wouldnt "buy" one, but id own one if it was given to me or something - torque steer is fun!
Quagmire: My fellow Americans, I have not been entirely truthful with you. I did gagoogidy that girl. I gashmoygadied her gaflavity with my googus. And I am sorry.
I drove a normal Aurion the other month and it had solid torque steer, not only that they are a weird car, just to drive.
Havent they been back on the road for months now?
As said, all they did was lower the rev limit.
Hence the reason for the thread. It is the first ad i have seen for it since they took them off the market.
There wasn't even any Ads for them during the last GP.

It's not like Toyota to have any issues such as this, Then ad there ESP system failed and they rolled a Rav 6.. They are having issues as everyone does. But for toyota that's 2 too many issues they claim to never having faults as others, Well there drivers claim it.

even with the aurion (n/a) having less torque than the falcons i6 it will still flog commo's, falcons every time, those 2gr-fes with the 6 speed auto is a very potent driveline setup,
the same mechanical setup is shared between the rav6, tarago6, aurion and klugar
i can tell you that the kluger is pure balls and would blow territories easy, ive driven a few with 19's with big rubber and they spins the wheels as easy as a vn with the tyres oiled up
but as mentioned before, let go of the steering wheel and youll go 90 degrees to the right very quickly, it just unfortunate that toyota still pursist to use fwd with high powered drivelines, especially with awd platforms
