Totally random topic here but this is something I have wondered about for years and my 8 year old daughter asked me yesterday and I didn't know the answer. Why the hell do idiots throw a pair of tied together shoes over powerlines?
I always just figured it was a stupid hillbilly bogan thing to do i gets thoughts of cletus the slackjawed yokel just thinking about it. Or maybes its just a bored kids prank but my 13yr old niece said its used as a sign that you can buy drugs there.
What theory do you guys have on this shoes dangling from powerlines phenomenia?
drug house nearby and/or brothel
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone

Looking at Snopes it can mean a lot of things. Some of these are : Drug House, Gang Boundary, Gang Meeting Spot, Losing Virginity, Graduating Seniors and kids doing it just because it's fun![]()
i always just thought it was bored kids...
next time i'll have to look out when i see them!

That's an American thing. But as previously stated, it symbolises drug dealers house / brothel.
There is a brothel in the same street i work in, there are 3 pairs of shoes over the powerlines LOL.

Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.
