Aftermarket Sunroof..

Hey guys, not sure if this is in right section if not can a mod please move it.

I was just curious to know if anyone has had a sunroof installed into their commodore, and a rough idea on pricing?

Was looking at something like this Welcome to Prestige Sunroofs ...

I got my hollandia supplied and fitted for $1100, but its the hollandia 300, the factory optional ones are the hollandia700 which are $1900 supplied and fitted from the place i got mine done

street commodores had an installation guide showing how they install sunroofs. The way they stop the leaking water, is have a drainage hole on all 4 corners, so no matter what angle it sits at, the water is always removed.

Yeah the hollandia 700 is trimmed to factory specs, as they do a lot of the dealer sunroof's as well.
They have to fully retrim the headliner to do so

My cousin has recently had one fitted from Prestige in to a VS Statesman,basicly the same as factory fit with sliding shade piece and roof lining done.He was happy and it cost him about $2500.

Yeah mate, that was $1900 for drive in drive out, takes about a day and a bit he said.
Will look as factory, it was at the sunroof factory, but that doesnt help you cause ur in a diff state lol

best get rid of it soon, Ive heard 16.5 years is the limit.....LOL.

It doesnt matter how many drainholes, channels seals....whatever.....eventually something gums up, parts company.....especially when parked on a slope.

If its just you that uses the car its up to you, but it will happen at the wrong time......you are going out to a black tie function, the missus has been getting herself ready for an hour or so......puts on a white dress......you can guess the rest...

I do have to pull you up on one thing though, we are all just fuel guzzling meathead bogan commodore drivers and we don't do black tie fuctions so it doesn't matter anyway

Im not a big fan of aftermarket ones, generally factory ones as long as you keep the rubbers in good condition, as I said mines pretty good after 16 years and even though its factory its the first thing i checked when buying the car, even if the rubbers go it wont leak enough to offset the drain holes.
