Can anyone with expierence with this product give me some tips and techniques to a good finish??
I have finished 2 cans of high gloss jet black on my 4 door trims
and quite frankly, most areas come up a matte black whilst a tiny proportion of the trim is glossy
i gave the surface a good clean and everything...
any help would be appreciated and pics of your finished work by any chance![]()
i used some of this on the rubbery trim on my door. the trim was pretty perished and had a nasty texture so i had to do a far few light coats. it came up really good in the end.
how many coats have you done?
make sure you dont get too much overspray on sections you have already painted - it causes dullness
we use stuff we buy by the litre, and use a spray gun - bloody good, a couple coats for matte and a couple more for gloss

I used satin black, came up awesome...
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
I've used it on my pillars and roof bits (lights, sun visors etc.) and i've found a heap of light coats brings it up very well. Pic of sunvisor that I had on my desk http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6940/sunvisorjc9.jpg
Satin black is easy to get a good finish, gloss black can be harder but make sure the surface is cleaned, you hold the can the correct distance from the surfac and you spray it evenly.

just a warning,
I've been using for a while now, redoing the interior
so far I've used like 10 cans (yes, painted alot), but 7 of them didn't work
The paint escaped thought the tip and not the cap, or just diden't spray at all
i bought them from different Autobarn stores,
Some of the stores didn't want to replace them because i didn't buy it from them ($32 wasted)
I don't know if its just bad luck for me,
but its a good product never the less.
try standing the can in a container of boiled water from the jug for a few minutes, make sure you have shaken the crap out of it too.
simply put the can should spray a finer mist without spitting any of those annoying globs, keeps it flowing better (higher pressure) and besides the best temp for most paints to be sprayed, as far as ive ever known is 20-25 C
or you could just say it assists atomization and the heat causes a higher pressure in the can so it will flow better.
thats just my experience anyway.
I done my dashboard in the VB in satin black about 2 weeks ago (MOTOSPRAY brand tho). I love it! A mate done his dash, and I'm sure he used a high gloss black coz his looks heaps patchy and cheap.....that's the reason I wanted to go as flat as I could.
I pulled every bit out which needed paint, then used wax and grease remover to clean over it all....then to start with I applied a light coat, followed by 3 heavier coats. The 1st light coat is important as the paint sticks much better.
Have many people had trouble with the paint not curing on certain items? Like on armrests and door skins? It happened to my bro when he done his years ago, so it's put me off doing my door skins....might give it a shot tho.
Here's a pic....pretty hard to tell how nice it is tho lol.

looks good Danny, I think the paint not curing could be weather, surface contanimation (maybe), too many coats too thick with insufficient drying time in between.
Or a combination of all three.
