With tyres. Meh It's an average price.

I went to Wheel King and got genuine sigs for $2000 on special. I got rid of my old fakies. Someone bought them knowing full well what can happen to them, yet he still wanted them, so i sold them. I'd rather pay the extra and get genuines. Have you seen what can happen to the copies?? I didn't know so i sold mine, and the bloke who bought them saw the thread on the SC forum and posted in it, and he still wanted them. Save an extra few hundred and get genuines.

**edit** sorry i just noticed that's a price WITH tyres **edit**

According to a thread on SC, but if you look closely at the pics in that thread in the "freestyle" section, it seems whoever owned the snapped face sigs in question, hit a gutter or something as there is a dint in the rim, but the whole face of the wheel (spokes) have snapped CLEAN away from the rest of the wheel. Cheap overseas job.

They can be legally sold too i hear, because they are made overseas, they don't have to be screened or anything like that when they are shipped over, as opposed to wheels made in Aus. But i sold my fakies to a bloke who still wanted to buy them after he knew what can happen to them, and used some left over money and the money for the fakies and got myself some genuine ROH sigs from Wheel King. They come with a warranty etc etc. Plus if ONE of my sigs gets damaged beyond repair, i can take my warranty and receipt into Wheel King and purchase one single sig for a few hundred, which i think is a good deal too.

Photo courtesy of CHEETR (notice the 2 dints in each wheel? Looks like those 2 wheels were the on the front of the car, and have bounced off a gutter or something, but that might not be 100% true, it's a possible scenario CHEETR would know for sure as these rims belonged to a mate of his, and the one with the face still on it, has split clean all the way around the edge):

Yeah - that pic is proof enough for ANYONE that copies and cheap wheels should be avoided at all costs.

If you can't afford decent stuff, DON'T BUY IT!

Yup, that's why CHEETR posted it up, just to give people the heads up. Respect!

I rekon if they were both on the front hes hit a speed bump pretty hard. Dont know why he wouldve run up a gutter with the 2 front wheels.

But yes, they do seem extremely cheap.

Nah, looks like he BOUNCED off a gutter. Looks like, but i can't be sure. As i said, CHEETR knows what happened. But yeah, it doesn't look too good ey? The back of those fake sigs, and the backs of genuine sigs look a little different.

If people are still willing to buy copy wheels after all the bad press surrounding them via the forums/internet then they almost deserve for something to happen to their wheels.

In saying that, dont be so sure that your genuine sigs are that much better (obviously they are to an extent), my mate has a set that he purchased brand new back a few years ago when they were released, $4k they cost him......they cracked, granted it was only last year BUT when he sent them to holden to have them repaired, whoever he spoke to said that it was NOT an uncommon fault. The technician he was dealing with seemed to think its due to the geometry of the wheel and its ability to deal with stress due to uneven road surfaces/bumps etc...

That is also true ^^^^, but i'd rather them crack and split under warranty being a genuine HSV stamped ROH wheel, than have a set without warranty.

At least some sort of action could be taken given the genuine wheels are approved by HSV, in the occurence they did crack and break.

Thats just sums up how easy it is for shops to sell unsafe wheels to the public, all items like that should have some form of Quality controll associated with them to stop that kind of thing happening, but yeah, if you want something decent, then get the real thing, through work i can get new genuine 19" HSV VE series wheels and new bridgestones, with the rim machined to fit vr, for $2150 i think it is, ill have to have a look at the fax tomorrow

That's not a bad price either dude!! ^^^^ About $500 cheaper than a set of genuine sigs with no rubber.

That's not as silly as it sounds. I believe they weigh a bit less than bigger wheels with lower profiles anyway. Hence why Daniel (Morton) has them on his VP. Less weight = more power.

I think, don't quote me on that.
