    Angry $2.03 ltr petrol

it's official 98ron is now $2.03 per litre. it's a crime and the regional council still wants to implement another 5cents/ltr petrol tax for roading wankers. 95ron is $1.89 and 91ron is $1.86

We can only hope Australia goes the same way, might make roads a little less congested

I can't wait for petrol to become unaffordable for a lot of people.

More space on the roads for me

And for the record, I'm guessing that's $2.03 New Zealand dollars which at the time of posting = $1.71 Australian. AND the GST in NZ is higher than ours so the Australian price would be even less.

Thats NOT a good thing! Why yes, roads would be less congested, would you be happy paying that much for bloody petrol? Not to mention the fact that as soon as the price of oil goes up that much, the cost of everything else will as well, yay inflation, not.

Whether we like it or not it will go up this much and more. I have no issue paying whatever it takes to be able to drive, people don't whinge about paying $2.80 for a 600ml coke that can't move your car from A to B why do people whinge so much when petrol is no where near that cost?

Sure other things will go up in time...maybe, all the more reason that Australia needs to move more freight on trains and less on interstate trucks. Perhaps more people will grow their own vegetables instead of paying huge amounts etc. I almost died when I seen the price people pay for fresh veg at safeway etc same for meat, we haven't bought Pork, Lamb or Beef for about 6 years now. Cheaper to buy a few cows, pigs etc and have them butchered yourself, tastes better too!!

Exactly. I don't mind petrol going up. It should have gone up years ago!

More space on the road for YOU? though what about the struggling familys out there that can hardly afford to feed there own children. To me saying "I cant wait for petrol to become unaffordable" is disgusting because your only thinking about yourself, and not the struggling familys out there.

Then you have kids who are sick, and there mum and dad has to drive them 190k's a day back and forward to the Hospital. Do you think they want to see without a car, due to fuel been so expensive?

Ive seen and been in this situation and im sorry but I hate when people are selfish.

Why do I have to think about struggling families? It's not my fault they're struggling....

Sorry, your saying I am selfish because my concerns lie with my family and closest friends? Why should my concern be with those I do not know?

For the record, I never think just for myself, I always consider my family and friends, that's about where it ends though.

There we go again, never said it was ANYONES fault for WHY familys struggle. But it is selfish to say: I cant wait for petrol to become unaffordable!

That was my point wasnt it?

You actually said "because you're only thinking about yourself and not the struggling familes out there"which implies I should be thinking about struggling families!

As for selfish? Not at all. Why is it wrong to look forward to something that's going to benefit me? Is it selfish to look forward to my pay cheque at the end of the month just because it's a lot more than someone else's? Is it selfish to look forward to my holidays overseas just because there are people that can't go overseas for holidays?

sorry nz$ and GST is 12.5% but there are also other fuel excise taxes as well as ACC taken out of petrol. approx 60% ofthe total cost of petrol goes to the ****ing government

it's much worse then that though, we pay $4.30 for 2ltr's of milk. loaf of bread is $3.50-4.00. butter is $3.50+ for 500grams and cheese is $12 kg. we also pay a blanket GST on everyproduct 12.5%

infact i believe you can get NZ milk cheaper in australia (and hte UK) then you can in NZ. the government is saying people should feed there kids healthy foods, yet a 2.25ltr bottle of coke lessthen $2 at the supermarket and chips are cheap as well. rising petrol costs are passed straight onto the consumer atthe supermarket so prices are only going to go up

well thats pretty bad logic. you going on holidays and receiving a paycheck doesnt cause families to struggle more than they are at the moment

Again with the familes??? They have nothing to do with ME!!! Unless they happen to be my tenants and it causes them to be unable to pay rent. Then it has a lot to do with me and I have to evict them and get new ones.

    What is your point?
