Crash on South Road (SA)
Any one hear of what happened - there is a truck parked ontop of a car just by my work South Road/Griffith Drive Old Noarlunga. The road has been closed off all day and the truck has not moved. Who ever was in the car would still be stuck in it. Looked very bad

Some one ran a red light - If may have been the car comming from Robinson Road the truck has hit the car smack in the middle and crushed it and is almost under the cab of the truck. The truck has gone accross the road and crossed 2 lanes to the other side dragging the car with it. It dosent look like the truck (large semi long nose type) was speeding as it was only just through the intersection. It's a 60 zone now. I hope only one person was in the car else many people may have lost their life in it today.
I have a new P plate driver in the family this month and I'm already getting the rolling of eyes when I say be carful on the roads. Wont stop me from reminding them.

That looks scary I feel sorry for her family, and what they're going through right now.
For the record, when I saw the title of this thread, and your name, I thought it was going to be about the wagon *is relieved*

Passed the crash on the way to work - felt sick all morning when I seen the car under the semi. From my office I could see the truck - not move all day. They were just cleaning up on my way home. They said on the evening news the car was travelling east at about 8:00 am - but the car was facing west under the truck - and the young driver ran a red light - the sun in her eyes.

In the paper this morning it says it's unknown how and why it happened and that it's still under investigation...sumfin along those lines anyways.

Looking at the crash I cant see how the car was travelling East. It ended up facing West under the truck. If the car had a green light and the truck ran a red there would have been cars sitting at the intersection waiting at that time of the morning and would have been cleaned up too as the trucks path was right through that part.
The truck probably was not speeding as it stopped so soon and was not very far passed the intersection - luck to have been 100 m past.
I think the car was travelling West and missed the red light as the truck and car were carried to the West side of the intersection. Reflex is to turn away form the on comming car - from the East.
Also there was almost no skid marks on the road so I doubt if anyone was speeding - just one of those mistakes that cost a life.
Very sad indeed.

The truck pushed the car 30m apparently, which seems about right for a fully laden truck travelling at 60km/h.
