Can anyone reccommend a good Mechanic?

I am in Melbourne in the Knox area and I want a good Mechanic to work on my car, I am going to one of thoses comercial places and I just dont think I am getting what I paied for? I took it in telling them I think the muffler had a hole in it because the car had a loud hollow noise coming from the engine but underneath what did they think?, they replaced the muffler and the noise was still there, I asked to look at the muffler and there was nothing wrong with it so why did they replace it? there is so much more and no one seems to know about older cars anymore?? am I being stupid? am I ranting? Help me JC peoples!!

I get looked after because i walk over and have a few bourbons with him every week, and because i have a massive sticker across my front windscreen that spells DJ AUTOMOTIVE, and he is a mate of my uncles. Like i said he is a good bloke and i consider him a mate

For you, i'd say the one at the end of the street i work in would be better location wise for you, but if you don't care about location, definantly my mechanic in FTG.

OMG! OMG if anyone wants their car looked at and you are not very car savy or even if you are a car buff then go here!! he was fantastic people's!!!! professional, took time, kept me informed the whole way and looked after my car as if it was his own car, very busy but only had a few cars in as he is interested in quality not quantity!! thanks Cobez, i will see you at a Friday night meet and buy you are beer!!

There is a reason his shop has been in very steady business for over 25 years You should have seen the gas research, twin throttle body'd, 355 stroker VH SLE that was in there about 5 months ago that he built. Phwoar, did you see the MASSIVE dude outside when you were in reception last night who drove the white Ford one tonner? It was his SLE, Danny built up for him.

That thing was one mean piece of steel. 460 HP on straight gas research. Would have been more on petrol obviously. Geez that thing sounded bloody mean.

I'm gonna get him to do my 5 litre conversion when i get up off my ass and buy a complete 5 litre VN - VR.
