Can anyone reccommend a good Mechanic?

I am in Melbourne in the Knox area and I want a good Mechanic to work on my car, I am going to one of thoses comercial places and I just dont think I am getting what I paied for? I took it in telling them I think the muffler had a hole in it because the car had a loud hollow noise coming from the engine but underneath what did they think?, they replaced the muffler and the noise was still there, I asked to look at the muffler and there was nothing wrong with it so why did they replace it? there is so much more and no one seems to know about older cars anymore?? am I being stupid? am I ranting? Help me JC peoples!!

i wouldve recommended autozone in blackburn. my brother worked there and knows what hes doing.

hey man, i thought i had a pm or something from you about a mechanic off highbury in my area (burwood area) but i couldn't find it. could you give me the details on it again, and is it better than your current place in ftg?

I get looked after because i walk over and have a few bourbons with him every week, and because i have a massive sticker across my front windscreen that spells DJ AUTOMOTIVE, and he is a mate of my uncles. Like i said he is a good bloke and i consider him a mate

For you, i'd say the one at the end of the street i work in would be better location wise for you, but if you don't care about location, definantly my mechanic in FTG.

Ok so I booked my car in and it took a lot of pleases the get it in next week thurs, if anyone is wanting to use this mechanic they are very busy so get in quick!
