Shot fired during police pursuit

Oh dear ... Im glad I wasnt at work today otherwise I wouldve been caught up in this

The pursuit began in the Redfern-Waterloo area just after 5pm (AEST) when officers spotted a stolen car wanted in connection with a string of robberies, police said.

Police followed the four-wheel drive carrying three men through several suburban streets and then down Parramatta Road to North Strathfield, near the entrance to the M4 Motorway.

Two men have now been arrested, police said.

A spokesman for the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) said Parramatta Road was closed in both directions between the M4 turnoff and Wentworth Road.

The Parramatta Road access to and from the M4 is also closed, he said.

"It looks like it is going to be closed for some time," the spokesman said.

It was not immediately clear who fired the shot.

"Two males are now in custody and the search continues for the remaining offender," a police spokeswoman said.

"The first man was arrested soon after the foot chase began, while the second was arrested in a unit complex on Parramatta Rd."

More than 20 police cars are understood to have been involved in the operation

why am I not surprised Redfern is mentioned?
I don't live in Sydney, but if anything dodgey is mentioned, it's in Redfern

In any other part of Sydney, this would be news. But in Redfern, meh.

sydney is nothing like the gold coast, gc sh1ts all over sydney, full of lebs, crime and traffic cameras. plus its way, way too busy. most of sydney is old suburbs and expensive as hell just because its 'sydney'

where does shootouts and crime related behaviour usually happen? sydney and melbourne...

the gold coast is actually a nice place to go to.
