Anyone know if you can get BB Guns in Australia? A guy who works for us in the USA is coming out here to live/work and wanted to know if his BB gun is OK to bring?
I think he has a few actually. Replicas of real guns that work as BB guns.
Found this: http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?c=5663
-=EDIT=-Because BB guns are prohibited imports under Customs regulations, the shipment has been seized and will eventually be destroyed.
Also this: arriving travellers
What do I have to declare?
Firearms, weapons and ammunition
You must declare all firearms, weapons and ammunition including real and replica firearms and BB air guns that discharge a pellet by means of compressed gas, commonly purchased as "toy" guns. Other weapons such as paintball markers, blowpipes, all knives, nunchukas, slingshots, crossbows, electric shock devices and knuckle dusters must also be declared. Some of these items may require a permit, police authorisation and safety testing before importation.
Might give the AFP a call and ask them.
I know a freind of a friend:
nah just jks lol! As far as imports/exports goes Australia is one of the hardest countries in the world to import/export anything into or out off!
i know a guy who is a gun nut... i sure he could get some, but he doesnt like to do it
why do you want one anyway?
Think you can get them from asain markets... Im going to try bring a couple back from bali when i go over. Im going to fully deassemble it and scatter the parts over the suitcase. Its the bali air port I have to get thru. They dont scan your bags when you get back to australia.

One less JC member haha.
Why does he want to bring a BB gun, its not like a vital part of day-to-day life, well in Australia anyway lol. Also importing is one thing but if hes not an Australian resident im pretty sure he cannot obtain a firearms licence.
Ring the people in charge of,who ever they are.
You guys have no fun over there. I had my first BB gun when I was 9.
Since then its been replaced with my real firearms![]()

Do each of your guns need to be registered to a licence holder in Aus? There was talk of bringing that in here but it seems to have gone away. Seems like a stupid idea.

lol.
True. We dont have much fun over here. Everything what was fun is now banned or illegal or will be illegal. No fireworks, no bb guns, no toy guns, no laser lights, ride a motorbike in the bush and get a $2000 dollar fine... And they wonder why kids these days sit inside on the computer... There is nothing for them to do.
I got a mate with a couple of bb guns. Hes got a pump action shot gun and a normal steel hand gun... His brother is in the army and brought them back from iraq lol.
I still remember the first time I was in bali watching the locals having a bb gun shootout on the streets while i was eating dinner in a restaurant. The good ones actually sting when you get shot.

the guidlines here are a bit unclear...i have to speak to my boss ( i am deeply involved in paint ball as a pro and also hed refferee) i will post more when i know.
what i do know is that im pretty sure it is a class b weapon so you would have to have a liscence . if u dont have one i will not make any arrangements at all.
i am a law abiding citizen and would never jepordize my reputation over a 200 dolla bb gun.

I used to have a air rifle when I was a kid back when it was legal and I used to lust after a nicee .22 calibre one that was in the local sports shop for years and years but never bought it (it was like 500-600? bucks) that was lots of cash for a school kid back then. Anyway I grew up and I'm against guns now so I'm over it : ). All ours went to the big crushing machine at government HQ during the gun buy back and that was the end of that.
And yes they are in the same class as a normal rifle, a good air rifle can still mess you up.
Lazorrrrs are illegal? I didn't know that
You can still ride a motorbike in the bush, yes the conditions are quite strict now.If you wish to ride in a national park you must get park rego, its quite easy and cheap, about 45 bux a year i THINK. Riding in a normal bush will depend who owns it, some require permits, some dont. Also depends if you ride like an idiot, i know a place around here will turn a blind eye to people riding through the pines, but if you start digging up their road, or being careless as logs trucks do travel through, you will get a fine and charged with trespassing.
Yes green lasers are apparently illegal now, or certain strength ones.
Not in NSW. We can not get recreational rego on motocross bikes, pitbikes etc. We just get a $2000 fine and loose out car licence for 6 months. Cool huh? Green and red laser pointers are now banned.
