This is the RX4 my dad and me repaired when I was 17. Paid $375 for the car. It was rolled over on the Mt Gunson copper mine dirt road about 45kms south of Woomera.
This was a great car to have fun in! + it had a LSD![]()

13B was the motor with a huge thirsty 4 barrel. Ported with extractors and twin system out behind the rear wheels. ...Loud!
Could shread a set of Bridgies in 1/2 hour ($80) each back then.
Top speed off the clock and you could have the buzzer coing off in all gears.
The buzzer went off at 7250 rpm from memory.
Just noticed the photo code 12a Ha what a boo boo.

Yes I know - rare as now - If only I had known that I could have re-done the brakes for less than the stamp duty... - but as I was just a kid and I did not like leaving the road sideways. I just sold it for $1,700. Sigma was $6,250, one owner 80,000kms blar blar blar. It was a heap of pooh.

Man that woulda been a fun car! I used to have a S2 RX-7 with a J ported 12a... Never should have sold thatI still like the odd rotor!
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
You could do dounuts in second gear (on dirt) with the front wheel tracking a 2 m circle.
Did this for about 1/2 hour one Sunday (arvo - dusk) out at the Phillip Ponds clay pans and when we left and drove up the hill we had created a dust cloud bigger than a footy oval. Washed fine dust from the car for weeks and weeks after that.

I used to have a series 4 RX7 turbo, I loved that car, it was so **** on petrol but. YOu gotta love the sound of a rotor! brap brap brap
I may just still get me one of those RX7's. And yes more like Brrrraaaaaaaap Beeeeeeeep Braaaaap Beeeep Braaap Beeep Brap = 210kph.
And the flame outs. I had the pipes out the side infront of the back wheel for a while and after hiting the limiter in 2nd one night the town had a blackout. I lifted the foot off and had huge flames out the side that lit up the area and reflected off the big windows (large groups of flats) It was like faaarkdid ya see that to the 2 blokes in the car with me. Spent the next 6 months trying to do it again without luck.
