Not happy at all!!!

Ok so I am always getting on here and having a bit of a spaz but I need other peoples opinions! I just got not one but three notices in the mail saying I owe $100 each for not having a registered e-tag, now I have had the e-tag for about 2 yrs and never had a problem, they say they sent out a late toll notice? ( never got one! )and that my e-tag has been suspended since Feb this year, the thing is I have travelled on there heaps since Feb and the E-tag has only been beeping once so I have just been doing my normal top ups and thinking everything was fine, now I find out I have another 5 notices coming because I have been travelling without an e-tag WTF? so I rang and I have filed a complaint, they say when your account is suspended the e-tag only beeps once because it is void, WTF again!! how stupid! it beeps once because your account is full but also because it is void? how can it have the same beep for two totally different things? also how can I top up an account that is suspended?? I am very confused, has this happened to anyone else or am I just having a bad year?

When we travell on our freeways we have to pay a toll and its a little device you stick on your window that beeps to register you have used that section of the road.

Had a similar problem last year when my E-tag stopped working. Had to send it back and get a new one but in the mean time they were charging me all these extra fees for not having the E-tag in my car. Took me ages to get the money credited back to my account!!!

Also I think it sucks how it turn in to a $100 fine for late payment! Effing crap eh?

I HATE E-TAG.. had similar expeirience.... tell them to stick the e-tag up their a-hole.... they still reckon i owe them money when I know i dont..... i just ignore them now and any fines i refer to my dads e-tag and they bill only the normal price to his. ( without the xtra 20 bucks they normally slam on)

I don't have an E-TAG, I don't use it enough, so I just have an Access account. Both cars are registered on it, if i use the toll roads, at the end of each month I am charged for the sections i use, direct debit via CC.

Beats the hell out of having to worry about having money on your E-TAG.

i used my e-pass on the M7 a few months back, then got a fine in the mail saying i went through without paying. turns out that somehow my rego was listed as NSW, not ACT on their files despite the fact that i had previously used it and not had an issue. the exact same thing happened to my mum about 3 weeks before.

I am just so ****ed! it means a total of $800 and what if they wont fix it? will I have to pay court costs if I go to court and what if I loose? I know its not my fault but they don't seam to be seeing it that way!!

Should see the tolls here in brissy. ATM there are 5 or 6 and it will be doubling in the next few years. One of the tolls for the tunnel through the city will cost nearly $5 each way. ****ing rip job

and on top of that you gotta put up with the petrol prices. i recon its just stupid we already pay tax. and pay GST on everything we buy you would think that would be enough

no tolls here yet. Im not paying to use the road, we may as well have dirt roads for the condition of them......

funny thing is to even when the section of road/bridge has been built the tolls still stay there (gateway bridge anyone) just another way for the gov to get more money out of you.

They did take the one off the sunshine motorway. But yeah, I'm sure the gateway has been paid for a few times over.

Exactly wtf? And how stupid is the new 'widened' section of the gateway gonna be. 3 lanes each way then a million for the 2 bridges then back down to 3 lanes. Can anyone say bottleneck? And also aparently the original bridge will be getting shut down for 18 months to refurbish it so chaos there. And the toll is gonna be nearly $4 each way which is annoying considering the 1st bridge has been payed off for a while

And to make matters worse how long do they expect 3 lanes to ease traffic for? I was driving home from loganholme yesterday towards the bridge and some twit going southbound ran up the ass of another car just after the M1 turn off. The traffic was backed up as far as i could see down the pacific and also past miles platting on the gateway. Stupid

lol nice, wasn't there something else about the truckies turning down jobs from sydney to melbourne because it just wasn't worth it due to the price of fuel?? not sure if it's true or not...

Yea something like that. Fuel is costing them X dollars p/litre and they get paid according to the news report on the radio like 160/170 cents per km. Not sure what the fuel consumption figures for a truck is but im assuming its not too crash hot

I think most of the toll roads here in Sydney are owned by Maquarie Bank , the Sydney Airport
was also sold to MAQUARIE BANK by the labour CARR state govnnment!

I believe there is an ombudsman regarding such things. Give him a call. I use citylink all the time and my etag beeps only once under each tollpoint. Sounds like something has gone very wrong to me.
