Driving a car everyday that is more than your annual income, bit of a perk of the job.

    Way more than thier income.

I bet the cops driving these things are just waiting for some hothead to gun it past them, just so they have an excuse to floor it.

LOL!!! Most cops these days with overtime can easily pull in more than the cost of a VE GTS!!!

$100,000 is not a big income any more.

I don't know what dodgy shit that your Melbourne cops are pulling on the side, but most constables would give thier left nut to get even up to $80k with massive overtime.

Down here in Frankston, we've got a VE SS Wagon, antenna's are hidden throughout the roof lineing, the lights are modded inside the reverse lights, and the grill, lowered to minimum legal height and sporting a 'my family' sticker!
Theres also an SS ute, with the bar setup, on 19's,
Around 2 years back we had a semi-marked hummer on chromies driving around on the weekends.

I told my sisters husband who's road traffic, easiest way to make his VE stock omega inconspicuous.

This is after him telling me that their mech team were going to lower it 1" and hide 1 of the ariels.

'yeah, and while your at it lower it another inch, put some mags on it, hide the other ariel and put a jetpilot sticker on the rear view, no one will pick you'

I saw an unmarked bike the other day, jet black with two thin strips of LED's down the rear. Absolutely NO way to tell until you see the lights flash.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but (in QLD) all cop cars are registered in October, so the rego sticker has a 10 on it. I was told this by a mate and all cop marked and unmarked cars i see have been registered in October - not sure if it's true or not to any more of a degree.

Handy when you see a suspicious looking VE in your mirror, just make sure it's a single number on the sticker!

You'd have to be a fool to break the law when there are cars around anyway, especially when it's VE's and shit on your coat tail. (it was just a general sort of comment, i guess).

I just pulled into my driveway and had a marked police car pull up, officers said they wanted to check my car since there had been an "inquiry" into my VE Commodore. They were checking for Emergency Lights because I had an antenna on the rear window and a GPS mounted on dash (not windscreen)

All was OK as I gave them they keys and opened all doors and boot and told them to go for it... They were good about it and told me its procedure - kinda weird how this warrants such a check...

Imitating Police is a SERIOUS offense so even if some noob who has no idea reports you, they have to follow it up. But who cares if you've done nothing wrong.

Yup, and I made sure I highlighted that to them that I have zero intention of impersonation and if anything I would remove them if it caused offence. They left and seemed content, I was just a bit like WTF... but its all good.

I got pulled over recently for doing 76 in a 60, and the cops were driving some little Suzuki Swift looking hatchback thing, I was like um, really? You're really police? In that thing? I could have sped off and left them in the dust, and my car's only an NA lol.

They still fined me though. Dignity = gone.
