i heard a rumor tonight, was told it was fact that as of the 1st of july there is a new rule that anyone under the age of 25 can not have any blood alchahol reading in there system, same as when on p's.
has anyone else heard this? is it true?
if its true its a great idea. I believe that all drivers should have a 0%BAC

All drivers should be 0?
I enjoy my beer or 2 on my home on a hot day.

Have tried googling it but can't find anything, so i would assume not.
Specify a state. It's certainly not the case in Victoria.
If you get caught drink driving under the age of 26 (I think), you're immediately slapped with an interlock. I often drive between 0.01-0.05, not allowing it would be stupid. I think it would give rise to more drink driving.
yeh apparently its in victoria, i live in melbourne, was told bout it tonight, but haven't heard anything bout it in the news or papers, so wasn't sure.

0.05 is considered an arbitrary level where the impact on reflexes is minimal. It used to be 0.08.
Do you really think a 0.01 milisecond difference between 0.00 and 0.03 is worth banning all alcohol on breath?
I think you'll find having a BAC of <0.05 is not a contributory factor in accidents at all. Alarmists like you would bray about the ill effects of a negligible amount of alcohol to justify your ridiculous position.
Thats a bit harsh. im just saying that having a substance that WILL impare you in your body while your driving is something that I believe should be illegal. Its just my opinion though. But i will stick my neck out and say within the next 10 years every driver will need to have a bac of 0.00. Thats just the way the world works now. You see a problem so u ban it lol

Please don't ever run for a governmental position.
A slight BAC has a VERY small effect on responses. Taking most OTC drugs or even an argument with your girlfriend would effect reaction times more than 1 beer.
Banning everything seems like the go, so let's ban girlfriends. They're more dangerous than one beer.
Btw, when you stick your neck out with something stupid like that, it will just lead to it to getting chopped off.
You have not understood the meaning of my post. hence the "lol" after i said ban it. Just relax pal your going to blow a valve

If thats how you want things to be nicko, i suggest we ban children from being in cars. Much worse than someone having a .02 BAC.

yet another one that went over your head. not everything written is written in a serious note. i wrote lol to try and point that out but u can have a keybash at me, that seems to be your thing

You said your points and i didnt start hanging **** on you. if you thought it was over thats nice, i was just having a cheap shot at the government.
I gotta remember next time someone has an opinion that i hang sht on them and then claim that i 'won' the agrument.

I doubt this would be coming in. What would they do next, ban you from driving unless you had 8 hours sleep the night before? Shut off the car every 3 hours so you can have a powernap?
I once left Melbourne at about 8pm after doing an assignment all day, and drove straight through to Nhill (5 hours). That is one trip I would not be making again!
I would have been more of a danger on the road then than the .04 I'm currently suspended for (p plater).
The officers at the time agreed that I seemed fine to drive and disagreed with the .00 rule. To bring it in to all drivers is just rediculous

I'm for the 0.00, but it will never become law unfortunately.
And slick, were not talking about drinking 'whilst' driving, they just mean being drunk.

i read a news article saying that. i wouldn't have a problem with it going up to 21 lol, we all know what a **** job Australia does at enforcing the rules. just take a look at the number of times people re offend while driving disqualified or ignoring a home detention curfew and still the judges don't punish them.
